Re: Bad instructors - how to give advice on them

It's a difficult question because many beginners get discouraged and aren't experienced enough to distinguish between bad instruction and the typical challenges inherent in learning the sport. Many (most?) beginners come to their first lesson expecting to ride within an hour or two. They'll say some...

Very nice. Good kiting, and I really like the burgundy kite pants. Very retro. :thumb:

Re: Megaloop Boardoff

Yes, I think Peter is simply saying that it's the size of the balls, not the weight, that matters. So....size matters.....but weight does not. :-? :naughty:

Re: T-Shirts for Kitesurfing

Nice. I like "Loop It" best (and I think more than 5% of kiters will). I also like the wind bar graphs (shirt #2)......it's an image that only kiters and other wind junkies know, but we all know it well.

Re: Sure bet places for wind?

I agree with Ichabod. 95% is a very high bar. I can't think of anywhere that is consistently windy 9 1/2 days out of 10......meaning only a half day every 10 days (or 1.5 days per month) is not kite-able. I'm sure the foilboarders will say that every day and any puff of air is kite-able, but for me,...

Re: Cameron Maramenides #1 in the world TTR Championship Brazil 2017

Nice job, Cameron. You da' man!

Lots of French riders in the final results. Where are the riders from other countries?? Maybe Cameron will inspire some others from the USA. It's great to see the young riders competing, wherever they call home. :thumb:

Re: Cabrinha Radar vs Slingshot Rally

I used Radars to teach many beginners in 2014-15. They are good lesson kites, but don't really have the same versatility as the Rally, IMHO. And, unless Cabrinha has changed things dramatically over the past 2 years, the Radar has very heavy bar pressure (much heavier than the Rally). The Radar sits...

Re: Broken Iron Heart (North)

Guess there's no warranty on the bar? 2016 is still fairly new. It shouldn't break like that.

Re: Darkslide add-ons.

Okay, friends, I stand corrected. MJ's is a darkslide grab with (I think 2.5??) backrolls, and Toby's is a beach darkslide grab with frontroll. Guess I got disoriented with all the spins off goofy/switch slides. I had to watch each video about a dozen times, but I'm now with you. :thumb: Sweet tricks.
