Re: how often do you hit fish?

The recipe for fish collisions on Holbox. One racefoil One setting sun add wind and mix thoroughly. You are almost guaranteed to hit at least one needlefish. Someone told me that the rays were migrating last week and I had this recurring nightmare. http://www.whenitswindy.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2...

I wore a vest whilst learning the basics but don't often use one anymore.

Re: Slingshot Foil Kite (is it really an Elf?)

anyone got any first hand news or review of this kite? I fly a chrono v2 15m which is great but would like something 11m and have the option to get one of these. No chance to try first and they seem pricey. Not a racer but love to blast fast.

Re: rescuing a foil board

A flipped foilboard with foil up is much easier to see and drifts a lot more slowly downwind. If you need to return to shore before retrieving someone's foil, flipping it may help.
This might not work for all foilboards or in choppy conditions.

Re: Getting out at rocky spot

I'm with Peter. Though I prefer to use the foil downwind like photo 2 or photo 3 when deep enough. I always prefer to keep the board between me and the foil. Finding the correct position for your arm and elbow can be key to getting it to work properly. I use my elbow as a fulcrum with my forearm and...

Re: Foldable Mast Concept

I think the quick release idea is a winner for quick storage/setup. Liking the way stringfellow has achieved it.

Personally I'd rather walk or body drag to deep water.

Both are easy and far less hassle than mounting a foil whilst attached to a kite in waist deep water.
