Re: UNcrowded windy spots in (or near) Europe?

Hi cyprusdf, I have friends (good kitesurfers) been in Cyprus for 3 weeks last year complaining about the incredibly gusty winds there. How is your spot in this regard? also very gusty or better? thanks Oh for sure there are gusty days but I wouldn't say these days are excessive. Certainly not enou...

Re: UNcrowded windy spots in (or near) Europe?

Kahuna Surfhouse in Cyprus. Very consistent cross-on winds all through the summer. Clean water, no currents, no tides, excellent people and facilities.

Most budget airlines fly there too.

Re: How to check if your lines are good or bad

foilholio you come across like a right mug. Basically people can do what they want, take the risk they want, kite how they want and have a knot in their lines if they want. I'm surprised you aren't attacking him for not wearing a helmet and life preserver with whistle and strobe light. Dimitri M com...

Re: PIQ kiteboard: Another jump height gadget. Approx. 159 euros

The Woo is €200 delivered, the PIQ is €168.05 delivered (if ordered before June 30th). Both in my opinion are stupidly overpriced just like everything else kite/surf related. The Woo has had a head start and so currently has a better established community/leader board. The problem I have is that I w...

Re: do you want the sizes big on a kite?

It helps for when a noobie attempting to launch his 13m2 in 30+ knots. Gives you a chance ask him/her,

Re: Powered up!

At the moment I have one board and one kite. A 9m2 North Rebel 2015. I used it from 17 knots through to 30-32 knots. Never needed anything else. I don't foil so anything less than 17 knots for me is completely pointless and boring even with a bigger kite. I am a bit surprised by the huge amounts of ...

Re: Fine Tune My Boost

As above. A downloop on the way down from a high jump makes the landing super smooth. Just pull with your front hand as you begin to descend, if you want to transition you don't even have to make a full loop. For example, going with left hand forward: Jump with kite at twelve, as soon as you begin d...

Re: Do you boost equally on both tacks?

I find when going right hand forward to be more controlled, better pop and with good planted landings. Going left hand forward, tends to be similar but a lot less elegant. The good thing being that when going right hand forward at my spot, I'm heading out to sea and the waves make perfect ramps... W...

Re: Poll: How many years are you kiting?

Looks to me that the "newer" generation are too shy to come out and admit they've only been kiting a few years. :P This is a growing sport so really the poll results should be quite the opposite! I started my lessons in August 2013 after watching Kevin Langaree do an exhibition at our local spot and...
