Re: SUP Foiling

Hi Guys, thanks for your input on this project. I tried to SUP ride a 70cm Race board today and was very surprised to find how too small, without a kite, a Race board is. I could only kneel on it and even then at my 150 lbs I still had to be in the perfect spot on the board. The board was very tippy...

Re: SUP Foiling

Hey, thanks guys for your input. Yes, I was planning to install new fins boxes to accept the " Lift" mast , which will probably end up being forward of the rear Tuttle box. But before going on with this project I was hoping to hear from anyone who has Foil Paddling SUP experience. I'm an experienced...

SUP Foiling

I, like a lot of others, have an old 70cm, three fin Race board, a Mike's Lab, to be exact. It's 62"(158cm) long x 27" (70cm) wide at the tail. I'm thinking of putting a " Lift " 170 foil on it to paddle and hopefully foil downwinders on. The board is very light weight as is Lift foil and I weigh 15...

Re: Where to move in USA for great lifestyle/kiting?

The absolute best place in the Northern Hemisphere is being able to move around. Baja Mexico in the winter, up the Pacific coast thru the spring, Sherman Island & S.F. Bay in the Mid summer. Gorge late summer. It doesn't get any better than that..........

Re: Impact vest vs cracked ribs?

It's been my experience that most, if not all impact vest are not properly designed to help with preventing broken ribs. All vests that I've seen have plenty of padding everywhere, BUT in the under arm rib area. They all seem to want to connect the front padding area with the back padding area in th...

Re: Hydrofoiling toe-side

Two things come to mind when I was learning to ride toe-side. 1) Positioning your new rear foot. To gain control you want your rear foot a little forward so as not to foil too quickly and you want that foot on the windward rail so you can more easily force the board up-wind to slow it down and feel ...

Re: North kiteboarding - bar

Another advantage of getting rid of the chicken loop is getting rid of the f---ing spreader bar hook. When self rescuing or relaunching in light wind on race boards, foil boards and surf boards.......... how many dents has your spreader bar hook put into your board ?

Re: North Neo 12M as light wind kite

The 2015 Dyno compared to the 2015 Neo.......... The Neo turns just a little bit faster, but not as much as you would think. The Dyno is a amazingly fast turner for being a high aspect ratio kite. The Neo will relaunch easier. To relaunch a Dyno in light wind you have to use the 5th line option, but...

Spotz 2 mast angle

I'm building my own board for my Spotz2 foil. When gluing in the Tuttle box.

What should the angle ( fore and aft ) of the mast be compared to the bottom of the board ?
