Re: Who calls LEIs vertical structural elements "masts"?

Name follows function? I don`t really care what name it is and I don`t want to create more confusion, but: In all the discussion there is one thing I always missed: Besides the lifting/connecting function there is another major function: basically steering left/right and up/down or a combination of ...

Re: An idea for a one wing foil.

I didn't say the Laser system was a single wing - just pointed out that there were pictures of the hinged hydrofoil mounted on the bottom of the centreboard on Page 7. There is no electrical component. Sorry ronnie, read it too fast and misunderstood. But still: a monowing KBHF with hinged mechanis...

Re: An idea for a one wing foil.

The given example (glidefree….) has a rear foiling device at the end of the rudder? So no single wing vehicle…. Would this construction really help? Controlling a hinged deck plate for rear foot with a one wing vehicle seems even more challenging than the weight shift controlled conventional KBHF ri...

Re: Wave oriented hydrofoil

Thank you Starsky and Nicolas, now I know what you mean :D
The vertical aspect of the anhedral/dihedral should act like a small fin in front of the strut...

Re: Wave oriented hydrofoil

... as the center of turning for the hydrofoil will be between the back wing and the mast. If you use any anhedral or dihedral front wings in waves, it makes the center of turning will be between the mast and the front wing ... Hi Nicolas, what do you mean by "the center of turning" for the hydrofo...

Re: The Adjustable Size Kiteboard

The rocker is built mostly into the inner board. The challenge is that for light wind we prefer a flatter rocker. The rocker is fairly flat at the tips of the inner board and the skin (adjustments to the rocker table for both cures), so the light wind skin is less effected. The inner board also has...

Canard design/setup

From time to time the canard design/setup is mentioned as a concept for KBHF. I am extremely skeptical that canard will work for KBHF. Because: In a typical canard setup the strut/mast would be in front of the main lift producing (here: rear) wing? If you assume that in KBHF the center of gravity is...

Re: Crazy idea or possible future hydrofoil hover board desi

Apparently I am the only one thinking so ? 8) PF The KBHF-vehicle will STRICTLY follow the direction where the strut (and also the wings of course) is directed/pointed at. (We all know that sliding the KBHF in water is not possible) Every force that changes the angle of the strut (and th...

Re: Crazy idea or possible future hydrofoil hover board desi

I have never considered the strut to be a control surface at all, whatsoever :-? : Sorry for being off topic also, but maybe this helps somewhat…. (or not :-? ) The strut is THE main control surface meaning yawing/turning. We are affecting the strut with every little motion of our body. In my opini...
