From the point of view of a retailer who often sells secondhand FLYSURFER’s - can someone clarify for me how effective the short mixer test (levelling AZ then BC) and regularly replacing the pulley lines is ? Much of what I read in this thread seems to relate to the SMT not correcting for shrinking ...
Let’s go existential. What brought you to kiteboarding? For me it was to have a sailboat I could fit in the trunk of my car, and the fun of flying a controllable kite. I was never interested in boosting, “tricks” and the skater culture, but rather a dynamic personal experience of wind-powered movem...
Wow. This topic - 8 pages on how to turn a Hydrofoil ? TLDR but for me carving the foil (after 3 years of foiling) is no different to carving a skateboard / snowboard. It’s all hips and knees and looking thru the turn to the exit. You can’t stamp down on the tail because that will just breach the fr...
There is a new LF foil called Impulse which looks pretty amazing. It’s a slower foil for surf and freeride. I am enjoying kiting with a Sup foil these days for the variety. I personally have great experience with Zeeko aluminium foils and still ride a green and white as my regular foil. Having had 2...
Now that looks great - I really like the LF gear. I’m also riding s china Takuma as well as a Zeeko green and white. If anything, the china Takuma is a bit too slow for normal foiling - something in between like this Impulse seems like a great compromise.
If it’s a flysurfer there is no need. One the sand dries it will work it’s way to the wingtips via the internal drainage channel on the trailing edge as you continue to fly the kite. Then you simply open the wingtip Velcro pocket and empty the sand out. This is why the channel and wingtip pockets ex...
Never heard of Armstrong until this week when it’s all over Facebook. Where have you been ? When the trend for surf is slower foils aka GoFoil, Takuma and short masts - you are promoting long masts and what appear to be higher aspect wings. It looks like your foil is designed to be ridden at higher ...
For me it was negligible. I bought the spitfire in a December 2016 - not long after launch- and rode it 12 months. Had 2 years foiling experience prior. I’ve never had a foil chase me down in a crash so can’t comment. Spitfire is more tolerant of front wing breaches. At the end of the day it was a f...
