Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

It won't be the North Mono range. My 12 came in at about 3.2kg and the 9 at about 2.8kg (sorry have deleted my photos when I sold these kites so working from notes I made) which is heavier than my 3 strutted Ocean Rodeo kites (3.05kg for 12m and 2.75kg for 10m). I'd wager the Mono would do well in t...

Re: Boosting -- bar motion and sheeting

The ultimate aim is to get as much line tension as possible whilst still controlling the edge. Having the kite close to the edge of the wind window will mean that when you send the kite there is less sideways pull. Watching the guys on the C-kites here, I notice they often use the big kite method - ...

Re: Spitfire club

Spitfire has been out for vet a year now? I'm shocked no other manufacturer has a canard foil in production. I'm shocked no one has tried a canard SUP/Surf foil (especially since everyone likes the XLW wings better on the spitfire! Just keep going in that direction!) They have. Ierofoils Amphidrome...

Re: What do you think about this Woo 20.9m jump (picture)?

I talk in general..the woo kids now have another excuse to stop technique progress...very sad eh?! Woo tracks height, rotations, regular side and goofy side stance takeoffs and landings and detects what tricks you are performing. How do you see a detailed log of every training session inhibiting te...

Re: Core XR5 the best boosting kite ?

Best boosting kite? Well the sponsored riders can get pretty much anything up to 15m+ in height. If you aren't hitting these heights regularly with your current kite you might do better off working on your technique? Or do you mean easiest to boost high with? I could certainly believe it would join...

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

Interesting. I always assumed that the most tight turns (like the stuff Greg from BRM demonstrates) uses pitch to make the turns. He appears to roll the board into the turn but then his weight shifts back to use the pitch axis to fly the wings all the way around (kind of like that mtb on a bern / wa...

Re: Kite choices for foiling in high winds ?

North Buzz should be fine for foiling in good winds. Short sheeting range, slow turning and not too fast for a small kite. Just make sure its not worn out. I bought a Buzz from a kite school and it was pretty so worn out so it didn't fly well ( I think the bridles were massively stretched and the co...

Re: Drysuit or wetsuit if you anticipate a swim?!

I never liked it when it got cold with those over-tops. Admittedly my experience is with the Mystic ones but I found the slosh of cold water when moving through the water (say body dragging) cooled you down very quickly. That said. I guess you could take it off it you needed to swim in ...

Re: Countersteering

Just to clarify then, so your point is that introducing yaw in the opposite direction to the turn will help to initiate roll in the direction you wish to turn?
