Re: Jumping with a smaller kite 7m Bandit 2016

Lately I’ve had a few stormy/gusty sessions on the 7m in choppy wavey conditions and I’m not getting on with jumping with it. I find I over take the kite and land on my side or the lines go slack and the jump feels like I’m whipped up fast, followed by a quick drop with little hang time. That's wha...

Re: below the bar trim

The problem with BTB trim is just what you've discovered. The handle is too close to your body and you have no leverage to pull if there's any tension. If you're powered up and need to pull it the only way to really do it is to carve downwind to slack the lines and then you can pull it in. BTB looks...

Re: Warmer booties trick

Tuck the legs of your wetsuit into the tops of your booties and drink a gallon of water before you go kite. ;D

Re: FireWire Evo KiteSurfBoard

Then I thought of pairing the Evo with another and replacing my 2010 Naish 5’7 Global (good in high winds). Anyone’s thoughts on either the smaller Vader 4’11 or Vanguard 5’? My friend “bigger guy” briefly tried the 4’11” Vd and thought it a squirrel for his taste. The vanguard is selling on close ...

Re: Ride Engine Harness Hex vs Elite

Supposedly slightly lighter and stiffer. My friend broke 2 hex-cores before dumping the RE all together. I've been on my Carbon for a couple years now and love it, no issues. Only 1 data point, so TIFWIW.

Re: Channels on a surfboards

Citation needed. Look, if channels are in any way better than flat surface, then there must be some kind of optimum. In the number of channels, their shape, etc. What we actually see is a wild zoo of different "designs". Aren't those designs supposed to compete between themselves too (and exhibit t...

Re: Channels on a surfboards

To summarize: channels is yet another marketing gibberish. They look interesting to a prospective customer, that is all to it. I'm not adding it to the Official Thread of Pointless Innovations , because they were invented elsewhere (not in the kitesurfing industry). Says someone who has no clue. :r...

Re: broken line causes kite damage

Never heard of a kite self destructing from a line failure.A line breaks, the kite falls from sky.Any damage is caused by what happens after break, not the broken line itself.Any extra stress on remaining lines is inconsequential. That's not exactly true. I've had a a front line snap in the middle of...

Re: 2018 Naish Global

haha yeah I get those too. Also because sometimes its just so shallow and I have found that I'd rather grind the fins than cut my feet. #MokesProblems  I knocked 2 fins off recently when I was crossing the reef on the crest of the wave and it suddenly sucked dry in front of me. :( Rode a slipp...
