Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

One comment about cutting fingers : when i was setting the bridles of my custom single skin, holding the (Very thin) lines by hands very close to the speed system to have a direct look, one little gust came and line sliped from my hand. I bleeded a little due to the thin diameter that has penetrated...

Re: Foil kites on shorter lines

I agree but this depends on the kite design. HL (like medium ratio kite) should react nicely to this exercise In very light and long lines (limited overflies and good drift)

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Looks like no knots at all! Be careful about short extracts. We can see that upwind of the island there is significant wind. Looking at the kite linear displacement speed (which is approx LD ratio mutliplied by wind speed) there is significant wind at some meters above the water. IMO the island pro...

Re: Foil kites on shorter lines

Short line gives you better speed and upwind angle. Reason is that drag of the lines is reduced. But it is more sensitive on a high LD ratio kite like race kites. You will also benefit from higher end , specially in gusty winds. Reason is that the kite needs less travel (So less time) to reach its "...

Re: Pulsion 18m

I have set the camber at the limit of frontstall / backstall at the zenith (I Always do that). More camber may lead to some "yoyo" effect at the zenith (and 4 slack lines...) and instability if not worked from the bar (That i need to avoid because of swimming backward without touching tge bar in my ...
