Re: Riding powered: Seat vs Waist Harness

Is the small black ball your main release, while Cabrinha mushroom your secondary? (One would think that cab mushroom has better ergonomics)

Re: Riding powered: Seat vs Waist Harness

Dakine chameleon is a nice compromise between seat and waist harnesses. When I mentioned it on kiteforum, somebody noticed that velcro connection is not robust. Never experienced any detachments, but if you do, how hard is it to sew or glue them together?

RRD Addiction -- same designer, different company. While at it (that is making new kite design) I wish LF nuked their max-flow nonsense.

BTW, live2kite was recently firesaleing Addictions MK2 and MK3 for about 300 bucks (new).

Re: What is the easiest gybe to learn?

I was stuck like you did for 30 (or even more) sessions. The pivotal hint (pun not intended) was to learn that switching feet is difficult. Therefore, it goes in progression after being able to carve downwind 180 without foot switch and riding toeside. Certainly, you'll master surface turn even with...

Re: Best bankrupt?

...At least Eleveight is carrying the torch with good products and service! Most people get into the kiting business because it's a passion the original team has been gone for a while and the bean counters tried to make it into a regular business and of course that didn't work! You are missing one ...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

When learning and you are often quite powered, you will be toast if you point too low toeside, as you will accelerate like a rocket launch when going halfwind and end in a huge crash, so extremely important to point upwind so your speed is in control, to compensate for your other errors when learni...

Gath helmet: it is with me since 2003; no other piece of equipment lasted that timespan.

Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

Imagine if humans were three legged... Then foot switch would have been not a problem at all. On a related note, imagine how easy strapless water start would have been if humans had three arms... I'm telling you: that almighty being has either no respect for our hobby/sport, or his "intelligent desi...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

Whereas on a hydrofoil he will for starters not be able to point very high toeside, so if too much kite it is impossible IMO, and overall, a smaller well chosen size is so much better. Point very high, you mean upwind? Why is this important? My intuition is that one can develop toeside riding skill...

Re: Tips for learning to ride toeside

If you can do the turn, then you are on the stage which is quite similar to progressing from riding heel side board-on-the-water to flying. Just try riding toe side with board on the water for some time and flying would click in the same way as it did with heel side. This is where I disagree with ot...
