Re: Busted Rib

I had a seat harness break a rib two years ago. Under force and with body twisting when you hit the water, a seat harness can be be an issue. I now wear ION shorts, by far the best harness I have used in 30years of wind sports.

Re: Wash or not wash your kites

It is likely that whatever municipal water you would use to wash your kite has chlorine in it, and possibly other harmful chemicals. That will ruin your kite pretty quick. I have seen performance Dacron windsurfing sails completely destroyed by municipal water - have never seen issues with Dacron sa...

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

It's hard for me to believe this is 15 years old: http://www.mit.edu/~robot/zp/zeroprestige.html Q: How much volume should my board have? A: Way less than you think. It should be light so it doesn't sink and get lost, but that's it. Strange as it sounds, beginners especially benefit from low volume...

Re: Switch Website

and down again. Not a browser issue. What's going on at Switch? Very recently there have quietly been some major changes, notably Bill Hansen out as designer (always appreciate reading his posts here). Have been looking for info on this forum (only boiler plate at Switch), but not a peep, hmm.

Re: Eleveight kites

To be clear I did not mean to criticize Eleveight, they know their circumstances better than any one else. It may well be that personal relationships with dealers means a more secure launch. But yes, often a website is a better strategy. It's funny that responses to this thought ranged from suggesti...

Re: Eleveight kites

Very surprised that they have gone with traditional retail. It's hard to believe that a new kite company would launch in 2017 and go with bricks and mortar for distribution (with smaller kite companies moving away from that model). That may seem more secure in the short run, and may be what the folk...

Re: Pansh Aurora2 19m with Zeeko Carver

I converted to 2:1 for my A15 18m. Turning speed is still slow - but depower is remarkable. For this reason alone would not go back.

Re: Best bankrupt?

Seems to me that when a company fails, it's the responsibility of many people in the company, not only the CEO It would provide useful context for this statement if you read the linked stories from earlier in the thread. Best is now failing/failed because the owner of the company is being prosecute...

Re: new design era / Peter Stiewe

Definitely hoping for something like the original Best strategy - direct sales, lots of parts in stock, good service if necessary. That kite in photo looks a lot like an evolution of the Roca to me, good news. In general, always good when the person/people with the talent and passion are in charge -...

Re: Biggest kite for a surfboard?

On Monday stole a day away and had a great session in mostly ocean swell, but slashing through it. Wind was 7.6mph average gusting to 9.2mph when I went out, built by about 1mph during the session. Kite was an 18m foil. I love these light wind sessions, but I came to kiting more from a sailing backg...
