I use the "cut throat" signal, similar to the stop engine signal but less pronounced, it makes me look cool. :D :cool2:

+1 for "cut throat"
I prefer this as I can keep one hand on bar, just in case...

Re: Teaching wife hydrofoil.

Teaching your wife to do anything, the first step is: Did you get her to sign a pre-nuptual agreement before you married? Check with your lawyer and make sure you are protected so when the divorce happens she doesn't get everything. my wife told me, if it wasn't for my patience and attention when I...

Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

I just had my first session on the new Fone 1000cm2 front wing. Wind was around 7-10 knots with RRD Emotion 10.5. (80kg wet) Well, I have to say I was very impressed in all departments, even the top end was enjoyable, but of coarse not like my other wing which is a 600cm2. For light wind, its a big ...

Sad to say that I'm married to a windsurfer. Somehow this hasn't split us up. I vowed to stay with her for better or worse. :remybussi:

Re: Teaching wife hydrofoil.

Interesting topic! Simultaneously on an other topic, we are debating, maybe its better wife's don't kite all together, and here we are thinking how to share the wonderful feeling of foiling with our family. While I taught my wife to kite @45 I'm not sure foiling is a good idea for my her to get into...

Re: Who here is Kite Foiling?

Still trying/starting. I bought a clearwater foil kit and stuck it on an old 2,1 m (yes old) directional kiteboard. I think there's something wrong with my setup but I'm sure there's also still lots wrong with me so I continue to struggle, about once a month or so. Hi, can you take a photo and show...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

fact is brands generally dont support youth in kiteboarding any more, they target high income /retired older riders. They used to support the youth movement and it thrived. $$$ You can see the change in target marketing if you look at adds from 12+ years ago and compare them to now. entry boards $3...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

I make my own boards, sell a few to finance my learning. I make 18$ ( actually 180 Swedish kronor) per hour before taxes making them. Price is 850€ for my boards, and they take 30 hrs to make. About 300€ in materials. After taxes I have 7-8 $ per hour in hand. My boards work as good or better than ...

Re: Kite company's are out of their minds

IMO the kite gear, but especially the kites and surf boards are way over priced. I understand R&D and all, but these equipments don't last that long. no wonders the average age on a kite spot is 35-55, my Son kites, but only because of my commitment to the sport. kite bars going for around 600 Euro ...
