Re: Any of you hydrofoil freaks doing distance runs?

Did a little trip over around Rottnest Island from Perth with my zeeko spitfire and a 7m. Huge wind shadow but with the foil I could glide along. 83.6km roundtrip :)

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

Switch element v6 4m is 1.6 kg. In line with what a scaled ultra would expect but heavier than an ozone uno 4m(1.3kg) or one strut brm cloud d 3.7m (1
2kg) 4.8m (1.4kg). Definitely more reinforcement than the brm but I still need to spend more time foiling with it before i decide how it compares.

Re: Are Switch kites getting any better?

I have a 4m one strut switch element coming. Felix reckons 4m is the money size for non low wind foiling. I'm not keen on pulleys but I'm hoping for the best. A few friends I know foil with the ikon peak 3xs and like it so I'm not too concerned. Especially when paying around 500 usd for the kite new...

Re: Anyone getting a single strut Switch Element for high wind foiling?

Yes the cloud d kites flutter much less. The only time I hear it is when I do a hard kiteloop sometimes. I like the performance of the small clouds but I'd like a strut for stronger conditions to prevent inverting. It's a shame the clouds are harder to get outside the states(and it will be a few mon...

Re: Anyone getting a single strut Switch Element for high wind foiling?

Considering that once the wind is over 14-15 knots, Any kite will not be so hampered by weight. Then 3strut kites are no longer a problem. So why not keep the inherent advantage of the extra struts when going below 8-9 m There are foiling conditions where my 3 strut 5m will barely stay in the wind ...

Anyone getting a single strut Switch Element for high wind foiling?

Anyone getting a 3, 4 or 5m switch element 6 single strut kite for higher wind foiling? I can't decide which size I should get for 20+ kts. They are a pretty good price! I have a Cloud D 13.4 and Cloud D 8.0 so i'm leaning towards a 4m Switch Element (depending on reviews) for a 3 kite travel quiver...

Re: best SUP for super light wind kiting

The best sup for kiting would be one with a foil on the bottom :)

My g10 wings have a bit of damage on the corners. What's the best way to fix them?

safety :?: :-o

I personally think that's safer not using the donkey dick as he's wearing a parachute and can more easily jettison the kite and bar if something breaks.
