Re: Switch Lineup

I'm not a kite designer so I don't know exactly how flattening it out would affect turning amongst all the variables they've changed, but I think you get a more efficient kite for a given weight and potentially more power with less wasted fabric. BRM Clouds are flatter than most kites and they turn ...

Re: Switch Lineup

Yes, I think the new 7m-12m Helium 3 is essentially a refined and lightened evolution of the Element 5. Both have a similar aspect ratio but the helium is flatter giving a higher projected area per size which I think is a good thing for foil/wave.

Are CF the only medium/large kite company that makes their kites outside asia? It's interesting that they can keep their costs down producing in europe.

Re: Ozone Chicken loop Megatron smaller

This is the video i used by a friend. It's not too difficult but it takes a bit of patience to get things lined up right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn70o6Yk2xI The main thing that was challenging to wrap my head around was to push the half completed knot through the splice since you don't have...

Re: Ozone Chicken loop Megatron smaller

Well, that wasn't really helpful ;( How on Earth would your swivel go through this? Also, did you just cut the Ozone tube and put the knot or what? A picture is worth a thousand words. All I started with was a picture of someone else doing it. I don't understand your question about the swivel...

Re: New Switch Kites Helium3 only days away :-)

Looks good. Last May/June I was asking Felix to update the Element 5 to be lighter and it looks like thats where they evolved the Helium into.

I did with 2 of my ozone bars. Took about an hour or so each.

Re: Chinese KB Hydrofoil : 300 USD + shipment

There's also a full carbon sup/surf foil Chinese venders are offering that looks similar to the go foil. I met a guy that freshly bought one in Western Australia to windfoil and sup foil with. He's happy with it but the biggest deficiency of it is that the front wing is thinner than the go foil so h...

Re: Trying to understand kite quiver

A reasonable rule is to have 1.33 gap between kites. For example, if your smallest kite is 7m then the next sizes up would be 7m x 1.33 = 9m , 9m x 1.33 = 12m , 12m x 1.33 = 16m Or if your biggest kite is 15m then the next sizes down would be 15m / 1.33 = 11m , 11m / 1.33 = 8m , 8m / 1.33 = 6m Yes,...
