Re: flying foot switch - advice needed

I can't fly switch yet... but since Ive started riding strapless my switch has improved dramatically. The reason is because I can reduce my stance so I can switch faster and not upset the balance of the board as much.

I think another 3-4 sessions and I'll be there

Re: Fuselage length

The smaller the gap the more the foil feels like it's on rails .... I haven't played with changing this distance yet , there are soo many parameters to change on a foil it's crazy. But for pitch stability normally you would lengthen the distance to the tail stab. Or use a bigger stab. There is a thr...

Re: How much are old kites holding me back?!

The problem with old foil kites is some of them fly like junk .... ĺ had a fs speed 3 which was great as it was my first foil kite. But since getting a fs5 oh boy what a serious difference ... I highly recommend flying the kite before you buy it , if the leading edge bulges in or if the tips keep co...

Re: Tuning

What about a high torque servo with a heading hold gyro .... not difficult to water proof the gyro and servo , it's tuning it that will be a nightmare

Re: My next board design.

I like the way you come up with designing the board.

Pics of the actual build when you get going !

Re: Tuning

But this is exactly my point ... when I get guys started on the foil I recommend a washer on the rear stab to shift weight forward increasing stability and as they progress to remove the washer

Re: Tuning

Well like enata and ML have fixed stabs and KFA and spotz have adjustable

What I'm saying is for example you get an enata and you feel you want more front foot pressure , then what ? Stand further back on the board lol

Or is the foil so perfectly balanced that it requires no user input ?

Re: Tuning

This is one thing that I don't get on fixed front and rear wing foils.... some people prefer rear foot pressure others front. With it being fixed there ain't much you can do, and the worst part is that you don't know what the foil will feel like if it had more or less incidence

Re: More wings, the hard way?

Surely it's faster and easier to vac 3 layers of carbon over the foam core and use it ?
