Re: Building a kicker.

For 4' kicker 12' length is best
5' kicker 14'
You can use standard wood, just stain it before assembling for waterproofing.
3/8" sheet of HDPE is best for surface.

Floating or legs?? Kite scoop is good source for more info.
Have fun

Re: Red Bull Kite Farm

The race will be a course with multiple laps. Person that completes the course the quickest wins. I'm still waiting for the official 'notice of race' to be completed but once it is it will contain all the race information you need. I will post that when it's available. Freeride session, DEFINITELY!...

Re: Red Bull Kite Farm

Hey Zach, thanks for jumping in on this thread.

I am curious as to how the race will be formatted and operated.

Also, if race is a go on saturday, is there an option for a freeride session on sunday?

thanks

Re: Snowkiting near Barrie Ontario?

The locals keep everything quiet. Best bet is to ask a farmer, or wait until Bass Lake in Orillia freezes. Luther Marsh typically freezes pretty early, but I wouldn't expect ice just yet. Haha - the land spots are kept quiet, but that's because they are private land, and permission was/is asked by ...

How-to Air Re-entry Strapless Surfboard With Vid

I whipped up another lazy edit how-to. I apologize for the crappy footy, and low quality waves - haha. Have fun and thanks for watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-21DvO0AGI This is a fun trick that can be done on any wave size. In this how-to, the kite is parked, I am hooked-in, and the condi...

Re: Board Leash is back-for the good reasons this time

Around here, in 35-40kt (avg) side-on, if you lose your board, and it washes up on the beach, the wind can/will pick your board (twins and surfys) up and blow it across the beach until it stops. This usually means self landing your kite, and retrieving your board from somebody's front yard. Not much...

Re: How-To Kickflip Surfboard

Thanks guys, ya its a versatile trick for sure, it can be done with a surfy, skate and skim - its just really fun to do (but also can be pretty frustrating) 8)

Last clip I have right now - its a blooper clip, enjoy.

How-To Kickflip Surfboard

Greetings from the Great Lakes! This is a trick anyone can learn, it's not as hard as it seems, but you definitely have to put in your time. I learned it on a wakeskate a couple years ago, and decided to try to learn it on a surfboard this year. It's actually a bit easier to do on a surfy than a ska...

Re: Ski bindings type release

Designing a release system for strapped kiting is such a bad idea, that would likely end in increasing the risk to injury, due to pre-release, and non-release events. There are just too many variable forces to account for, in order to develop a reliable system. Definitely not a project for the backy...
