I like how this has morphed into the “watch out for the Russians!” thread.
Hahaha, even kiters in Vietnam and Thailand complain about crazy Russian, could be some truth to that notoriety.

Re: Slingy's Moses 633

Rest assured...all slingy goods are from China.... Wonder how that convo went "....great, can you just email that 3D file to sichuan province tommorow and the girls will get right on it..." Cant wait till the slingy 633 shows up on alibaba.... Is it not as simple as making a mold out of any wing an...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

China and EU don't want the trade war Trump is so eager to start. The only way of influencing this guy seems to be via his voters... I’m guessing you’re pretty confident that you have unbiased sources upon which you base your assertions, and that you’re pretty confident you’re right. You speak as i...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

Yeah you have to wonder with so much equipment being made in China that something has to give. I was just told that one of my outboard motor suppliers that is made in China is getting a 10% price incrase effective as of August 1st. That's substantial....and it will hurt our company for sure. I'm mo...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

The kite industry can only profit from fair trade deals... These are small companies, not global concerns & Trump’s plan is to empower smaller companies like kite companies that are run more like a family business than big draconian global corporations. It’s GOOD NEWS! Not war news 🙄 So prices will...

Re: Impending trade war: Tariffs affecting the kite industry?

800 billion dollar trade deficit for the US, 500 billion with China alone.      So every iPhone that was made in China but shipped back to the US adds to the US deficit with China. But how much of the fat profit Apple gets from each iPhone goes to China? Yeah, p...

Re: Oceanus kite reels: i still see them

I don't know about losing teeth or any of that with a reel leash, but ... 99.99999999% of kiters do just fine with no leash at all. What's "special" about you that you need a reel leash? I understand some surf kiters use a leash because they surf at a sketchy break with rocks and cliffs downwind. A...

Re: Switch Lineup

Yes their website is probably done by some kiter moonlighting as web designer. Can't even order a kite from Android phone with the new interface.

But so is Zeekos website, but I'm happy with my purchase.

Thing is, you can go on any 3 strut 10-12m kite in 10-12 knots with foil skills.
So Felix was stating the truth, no BS, right?

Re: Switch Lineup

Designer schimsigner, like you can name anyone from the big name kite brands. I always knew who was designing my kites and this will continue. I'm confused because by claiming the new Switch kites are replicas of some other kites, you do *know* the designers since you're so dialed in, yes? But you'...
