Re: 4 meters waves yesterday at tarifa!

The surfer always has right of way, because they paddle in. Period. In saying that the kiter went around him and let him have the wave so maybe all good. That doesn't sound right or make a lot of sense. The surfer could have easily been cleaned up quite badly by the missile with the kite when he dr...

Re: Skimboard foils

I had bolted my original Fish Foil to a Victoria Skim Board and it worked quite well until I almost snapped the skim board completely in half and lost the foil. My goal in life is to find a board that will get me up and planing in the lightest wind possible (100kg!!) so I can then pop onto the foil...

Re: Skimboard foils

I mounted my original LF foil to a LF twinskim and it's worked great, no straps though. I don't understand why width would be an issue, you're only on the board for a second before you take off on to the foil. Width is only an issue for me at start time in 8 knots. I might spend five minutes diving...

Re: kite surf trip australie

I will have a guess at your message...... There will be hardly any wind in Cairns in November. It will just be very hot and sticky. But as you move down the coast from Brisbane to Sydney, you should get good Nor-Easter sea breezes most afternoons with the odd southerly (it is the beginning of the pr...

Re: Short masts

28" works really well. You can still turn pretty hard provided you stay close to the water without breaching. Everything else is normal with the added bonus of being able to start in pretty shallow locations.

Re: Best Kite for Downwinders- Recomendations.

Will your downwinder include riding waves? Are the conditions onshore, cross shore, cross on, cross off? Conditions side onshore with small waves and choppyy. Find a kite that drifts and helps maintain line tension for steering control. You will spend a lot of time with the kite having very little ...
