Re: Shinnster thoughts

I am looking for a fun board to ride in light wind, small surf, and help with strapless footwork. I have read that the shinnster is great in those conditions but conflicting opinions on how good it is for learning strapless footwork. I'm looking at the new 2018 with deckpad and 80mm fins.. How much...

Re: The Most Important Skill To Develop For the Entry & Future Kite Foiler

I would have thought earning good money was the first skill required for foiling.

Re: Foil - wave riding

I agree with you 100%. Video cannot convey the feeling you get from actually riding the wave with a foil without the kites power. I cannot speak for others, but I want to be able to ride the waves like I do on my SUP foilboard, wave power only and kite just drifting. I would also love to be able to...

Re: Foil - wave riding

Those videos are looking really unimpressive. Where is the action and the fun? No cut backs, no splashes, no slashing, no tight turn angles... just riding gently down the line. When I saw the first videos of wave kiting back then, it was the exact opposite! I was stoked and addicted immediately, be...

Re: Foils and board for Downwinders

A lot options for long glides. You need enough speed to catch up to wave but not too much that you simply go blazing down at out of control speeds. I like the naish surf thrust large, the XXLW spitfire and the fanatic aero 1500 (haven't tried the Axis yet). These all work well for downwinders and sw...

Re: Riding Styles and best foils for curvy carving...

I agree with Peter.... racing and everything else. My personal journey was the LF Fish, Slingshot Hoverglide, Zeeko Carver, Zeeko Spitfire, Naish Surf Thrust, Fanatic Aero 1500 ........ basically I am interested in Carving and Wave riding. Bigger and Slower worked best for me. My boards also got gra...

Re: 7, 9 and 12 for a 100kg twintip rider

I am 100kg (add 5kg for wetsuits). IMO.... If you only buy three kites - you need 17m of kite from 10 to 18 knots, then a 12m, then a 9m (25/30knots).
I personally think three is not enough for a heavier rider, but you will figure that out in time.
