Re: Kitesurfing after hip surgery

I had both hips replaced last Xmas at the same time (bilateral surgery). I was kiting within 12 weeks, could have gone sooner, but wind went astray. Completely changed my life for the better. Couldn't walk more than ½ mile without stopping beforehand, an hours kiting needed 4 days recovery when bare...

Change of plan, no longer heading to Maui. Can't find out how to delete post. Sorry!

Maui kit advice - kite and winging

I've just decided to head over to Maui in a week or so, probably for a 3 week trip. Trying to work out if to take my own gear or rent. I'll be travelling with my daughter who can windsurf and is interested in learning to wing, but we won't be on the water all day, every day. I'm a proficient kiter (...

Re: The Hebrides

Great to see this, thanks for making the video. I'm just back from Lewis/Harris and some of the NC500 route, where there are some superb beaches too. Only took cameras and no kite/wing gear this time, but would in future. Fortunately there wasn't much wind, so I wasn't too unhappy!

Re: Cold Hawaii Big Air 2021 is on tomorrow

Cleaning the sensor on your cameras before a shoot is a fundamental for any photographer/videographer. It's inexcusable that they didn't do this. Agree with the comments about too much footage of riders making their way back upwind and missing the other ones doing jumps. The same thing happens in KO...

Re: FS Soul 18 vs 21 sqm?

I've got the 18m which I use for foil and twintip, I have tried it with a strapless surfboard, but not a tremendous success. I've flown it on North/Duotone bar with 24m lines. On the twin tip this means you have to start to redirect the kite forward by fish-poling the bar whilst still on the way up ...

Re: Soul 18 20m or 26m lines

I've only flown mine on 24m lines with a North Bar. I find it slow to steer forward when jumping on twin tip having to start the redirect as I am still going up. Having read the thread on here about flagging out on Souls and in particular the input from Armin, I looked at Flysurfer's own bars and no...

Re: Duotone Juice 13m - how's the real low end compared to 12m Rebel or XR6?

Few? There are absolutely loads of 12m Neos here in Exmouth, it's a popular kite! It turns much better than Juice (wingspan is far less) and has a lot of grunt. Neo build is heavier than Juice, but bridling is much more simple. I'm heavy, over 120kg. I also have 10 & 8m 2019 Neos.

Re: Duotone Juice 13m - how's the real low end compared to 12m Rebel or XR6?

I've got the 2019 15m Juice with 2019 12m Neo and use with surfboard & foil. Previously owned 9, 11 & 13.5m XR5s. Neo & Juice have much better lower end than XR5s, latter in particular due to light construction of kite. See my old XR5s not flying with new owners when my Juice is in the air. Juice do...

Re: Any reviews on the Duotone Juice?

I've had a Juice 15 a while now & have used it lots this summer with surfboard, twin tip and foil in a wide range of conditions. Need to be careful not to oversheet it which drops power. No experience of 2018 version. Initial impressions were posted here https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=240...
