Re: Recoating kite fabric

Sorry I havn't actually used that kite much anymore so it is not a good gauge on the longevity of the coating.

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

Sorry I didn't realize you were already going fine on an 11m in your average wind conditions. Honestly it doesn't sound like you are in as light wind as you stated or maybe you were in stronger wind and just didn't recognize it. RPM is a good kite, hopefully it gets you on the water enough to enjoy ...

Re: flying a foil kite- tips needed

Best to keep mixer in factory settings. If only kite bridles would do that, but they don't. Near continual shrinkage means a kite is never at factory settings. This means much higher bar pressure and also less AoA change after WAC engages than without it. It may reduce backstall but it won't give m...

20L is nothing young jedi. Be careful with a hairdryer you can damage the fabric easily. If you just loosely pile the kite or even better lay it out over some things it will dry quite quick inside a warmish house.

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

10-12knots, 11m tube, tt , 65kg. Good luck. If after however long you struggle on that 11m and per chance don't give up, you will be on a much more powerful kite like a 15m foil, or... a hydrofoil. Riding underpowered is much harder than overpowered. Riding overpowered is easy you just need strong l...

Re: Fly surfer soul wind range

If you back stall or heli loop the kite it will have less pull. You can use back stall on the bar or pull on a rear leader.

Re: Who said you can't loop a foil kite?

Foils are definitely not twitchy. In general they are slow and more smooth. They can be more relaxing to fly, but depends on the conditions. In gusty conditions they can be much more difficult to fly than a tube. The smaller sizes are generally less stable, both structurally and because of speed. Be...

Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

Brake lines as a safety generally don't work with closed cell kites. When you pull heaps on the brakes with an open cell they deflate and go to a ball. With closed cells they still have heaps of pull and often invert and fly like that. I think some Concept Airs have dedicated bridles to flag on the ...
