Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

Brake lines as a safety generally don't work with closed cell kites. When you pull heaps on the brakes with an open cell they deflate and go to a ball. With closed cells they still have heaps of pull and often invert and fly like that. I think some Concept Airs have dedicated bridles to flag on the ...

Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

Yes most definitely. You can use it without, just don't expect much range maybe 5 knots if you are lucky. They don't turn too well on bars either, designed to be flown on handles. It will be a good trainer kite. If you like tinkering, then converting it to depower could be fun and will help you unde...

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

Please note my weight is only 65 kilos (140 pounds), I've been told 15M is too large for me for the conditions found at my local spot. I did go out once with a 17M on a 9-10 knots wind but I found the kite too slow for my skill level (where I still need to dip a few times to gather speed and park t...

Will be stronger but downside is you'll need to open the TE for most repairs. I think the magnet valves on Pansh are a good idea, but you would need more porous cell walls for that with either holes or loose weave.

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

Honestly in the wind you are quoting 8-14knots you will want to be on a 15m foil kite or bigger tube to be having fun on a twintip. Buy second hand or consider something like a Pansh so you can afford more than one kite.

Re: A15 15m first impressions

70cm bars are quite old, best looking second hand or ringing shops or begging on a local forum. Otherwise people are making their own bars out of carbon tube. 60 or 65cm would be fine. I think mine is 65cm on the 18m. Haha I was trying to relaunch it... actually was trying to reverse launch it... I ...

Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

Adam is fixed bridle, i.e. no depower. You can make it depower but there is a bit of work involved.

Re: A15 15m first impressions

Take it to a park for a fly. You are best trying to relaunch it to get the water out. I would always try to sort out the tangles and fly the kite before I end a session. You will dry and get the sand off quickest flying it. Foils can be tough at times, I guess why most people haven't used them. You ...

Re: Pansh Aurora II vs A15me

I wish they made some smaller sizes like 5m,4m and 3m. I think 6m is too big for highwind hydrofoil. Over 30-35knot I think a 4m would be good on a surfboard. You can always use much shorter lines though. Problem when waves are big there is no wind low down.
