Re: I need convincing too:) Bar back lines!

Do you understand the concept of wear over time vs breaking strength. Specifically the example of 200kg lines worn to 50% of their original strength yield 100kg breaking strength, and 300kg lines worn to 50% of their original strength yield 150kg breaking strength? Take that down to internal abrasi...

3 pulley bridles that let you tune your wing tips apart from the rest of the kite
Good mod I need to try.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Foilholio, I have a few questions with respect to B limited depower and your Z-mod. - If B limits the depower after the SPL has shrunk, is it not possible to increase depower range by changing the front/rear line ratio On the kites I have seen NO. This is a limit imposed by the mixer, stand on your...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

recommending people ignore fraying pulley lines because they have a core is not a recognized best-practice for safe kite use and maintenance. No that is not what I am recommending. I am recommending they do replace for fraying or more particularly heavy fraying, but not shrink. If you were to carry...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Lets just put the understanding thing down to a language problem and perhaps my lack of paragraphs( but that was intentional :-) ) Having run many a pulley line to destruction, replacing them for shrink is wasteful. Sheathed line has a wonderful soft failure where the core can remain intact for quit...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Yes BUT you can achieve the same and in fact better results without the SPL swap. If your pulley lines are worn sure swap them, but trust me you'll be getting less than a quarter of the life out of pulley lines if you are swapping them just for shrink. Then there is the upper bridle shrink which you...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Honestly kitexpert you contradict your name at every turn. I often don't reply to you because well what they say about arguing with an idiot and all. How can adjusting Z work when it's B and C that have shrunk? Well if you had read everything I had written that is not what I said. You would need to ...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Adjusting Z is the same from a camber point as C and B in their correct ratios, which B does automatically on flysurfer mixers when you adjust C. Flysurfers standard advice is to adjust B and C in their correct ratios, why they don't just add a Z adjustment and make it simpler? The main differences ...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

No I think you have misunderstood, the shrinking SPL are an issue even if you do have standard adjustment. As soon as the SPL become shorter than factory length you have lost depower. SPL when new are shorter than factory, SPL when old are even shorter. Low end stall can be highly affected by loss o...
