Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Lets just put the understanding thing down to a language problem and perhaps my lack of paragraphs( but that was intentional :-) ) Having run many a pulley line to destruction, replacing them for shrink is wasteful. Sheathed line has a wonderful soft failure where the core can remain intact for quit...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Yes BUT you can achieve the same and in fact better results without the SPL swap. If your pulley lines are worn sure swap them, but trust me you'll be getting less than a quarter of the life out of pulley lines if you are swapping them just for shrink. Then there is the upper bridle shrink which you...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Honestly kitexpert you contradict your name at every turn. I often don't reply to you because well what they say about arguing with an idiot and all. How can adjusting Z work when it's B and C that have shrunk? Well if you had read everything I had written that is not what I said. You would need to ...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Adjusting Z is the same from a camber point as C and B in their correct ratios, which B does automatically on flysurfer mixers when you adjust C. Flysurfers standard advice is to adjust B and C in their correct ratios, why they don't just add a Z adjustment and make it simpler? The main differences ...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

No I think you have misunderstood, the shrinking SPL are an issue even if you do have standard adjustment. As soon as the SPL become shorter than factory length you have lost depower. SPL when new are shorter than factory, SPL when old are even shorter. Low end stall can be highly affected by loss o...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Comparing and adjusting relative to A should be ok, if you where comparing B and C against A and Z leveled in the LMT then you would have a bigger problem with depower.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

How are you comparing AB AC AZ? Is it with the front are rear mains matched? I don't know how everyone does the LMT but you need to factor in A shrinks aswell.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

3. And foilholio, you seem to be saying zero the mixer, stand on the front main and make sure A and B are 25cm different, disregarding the line plan differences. 25cm would be if I remember correctly to make sure the depower amount is correct when the mixer is at full throw. If you are using B C to...

Re: Race Kite Stability

Low end stability? So we are talking about low wind. Lower weight is the predominate factor that keeps them flying, of more specifically a ratio of weight to m2 or lift which would account for AR and get more complicated. The other factor is the rigidity and mass/size of the kite which keeps it from...

Re: Sonic 2 factory mixer settings?

You don't need to replace pulley lines to correct for depower loss. Lengthening Zmain combined with a mixer test will do that ( I wrote a thread how to do it http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=2392205 ). Loss of power = loss of camber, shorten Z or you can lengthen B and C, lengthening C...
