Pretty wild that in 2018 we are seeing inflatable kites winning a course race, and TT boards placing 2nd!
Yeah, but like Dave said, in 20+ knots efficiency doesn't win the race, grunt does!

Tow ups. Any discipline that uses a fixed point to yank on a kite and send people hundreds of feet in the air. Not how the equipment was designed, and an irresponsible use of public spaces that could result in sweeping bans.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

- To tune a used foil, what are the best steps to follow? Maybe next sequence: 1. Measure A/B difference and do the Z mod with the deviation from 25 cm 2. Mixer level, if needed extend C if not enough SPL available (or swap SPL, or would that mean you swap the SPL way earlier then normal wear would...

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Yes BUT you can achieve the same and in fact better results without the SPL swap. If your pulley lines are worn sure swap them, but trust me you'll be getting less than a quarter of the life out of pulley lines if you are swapping them just for shrink. Then there is the upper bridle shrink which yo...

Re: Anti-slip material on foil board. Where to buy?

Working on building a hydrofoil at the moment and always liked the sandy grip tape type deck over pads. Temavento always had perfect grip on their decks. Does anyone know what material they were using or similar? No idea, but if you want a sandy finish, sprinkle some epsom salt in a hot-coat of epo...

Re: Dynamic stretching - recommended for person engaged in extreme sports

This video includes an irresponsible amount of forward spinal flexion. Not trying to open up a can of worms about the validity of yoga, but if I tried to replicate this regimen I'd end up flat on my back for 2 weeks.

Re: Delta Hydrofoil's George Hradil talks foil design and the future of the sport

Guys, thanks for the posts and all the comments! I found this topic while searching for any info on NP FRX OD. My interest was triggered after I heard a guy on FRX kit (inflatable kite) won over all the ram air kite rivals, mostly Ozone! Well, that's already something! What competition did you hear...

Re: Speed system / mixer test explanations

Having run many a pulley line to destruction, replacing them for shrink is wasteful. Sheathed line has a wonderful soft failure where the core can remain intact for quite a while after sheath failure, noticeable as a rough point when sheeting. You can get stuck pulleys and other bad things happen o...

Re: Cavitation

George's latest tech video from Delta Hydrofoil recommends any surface finish be in the 1000 grit+ range for exactly this reason.

Re: Race Control System - much better depower trim!

I thought all the racers were building themselves custom bars w 2:1 pully depower AND the "Click" bar system? I think the click bar system died as soon as Olly Bridge jumped off his North sponsorship. Most racers I know are either using stock race control bars from companies that sell them, or some...
