Re: Who here is Kite Foiling?

Sold my TT a few weeks ago, it's slow, bouncy, and boosts terrible compared to my foil.

Re: Gear advice for 6’2” 210lb guy

A lot of guys ride 13's and 14's up to about 20 knots if they're you're size. You can probably get away with a 12 or 11, but at 210 that'd require good kite and edge control. A 10 doesn't have any place for you in the wind range you listed, I'd say like a 13 and a 17 would be your kites for those ra...

I think 2 this year already...
Okay, so 2 out of like 200,000 Australian surfers, those are great odds.

The real question is how many LEI kiters have taken their own lives out of shame and embarrassment for riding inferior gear to their foil kite counterparts?

Re: Paint

yeah, regular old rattle can primer is the way to go. It comes in tons of colors now, but grey is pretty easy to see as it creates a nice contrast with water. TomW hit the nail on the head in terms of process, but I'd personally work all the way up to 1k/1500 grit for a racier finish; not necessary ...

Re: Peter Lynn introduce the Aero V2

Thanks Kitexpert, I'm currently weighing up my options on a softkite for jumping with TT. I've been kiteboarding 18yrs and buggied before that. Options so far are Sonic FR 15m, Sonic2 15m, Aero2 decisions decisions?? Sonic2's are a lot easier to fly than Sonic FR's. I wouldn't recommend an FR nowad...

Re: Hydrofoil skill progression steps

Once you can tack and gybe both directions on the foil, everything else is going to seem crazy easy. Upwind foiling race tacks require expert kite control, timing, and foil control. If you can do that, a backroll is basically the same thing just don't worry about sending the kite a bit harder and fa...

Since when is 25 knots "survival conditions" for the top racers? I've personally seen Nico ride in 30kts+ during a gale and do JUST fine. So did I, for what it's worth...
