Re: Enata Foil reviews?

I think the 2017 moses race foil was abit of a flop I didn't think they were that competitive, but the two guys I talked too were very happy with them. One was doing much better on the Comet compared to the same fleet from last year. Can't remember what gear he was on last year though. If you mean ...

Re: Enata Foil reviews?

I don't think you can find a used Delta. I have a used Delta foil and race board that I'd gladly sell to someone who wants to get into racing. I'm out of the water with a disc injury for the next 6-8 months and don't need to warehouse unused race gear until then. Send me a PM if you're interested. ...

Re: Flag out line not long enough

For some reason I thought that bungee would still dangle out of the CL, I'm an idiot. Figured something was wrong with my logic. Yeah, it's designed not to dangle. I've run into issues where I was trying to tune my front/rear lines and the rears had shrunken so much that in order to get them even i...

Re: Recommendations for a kite

Yup, charts are pretty worthless. With only 2 variables, you cannot select a kite. And all those charts give you is "wind speed" vs kite "published flat area". Here are some more variables you need to add to that chart before you rely on it. 1. Aspect ratio 2. Projected area 3. Cord line 4. Camber ...

Re: When it's windy....

Foiling in big seas and high winds reminds me a lot of snowboarding the moguls. It's not really the best way to use the gear in terms of demonstrating outright performance, but the inherent challenge is alluring and keeps me coming back. Knowing that the twintip or a surfboard would be easier, for ...

Re: Progression of a roll tack , need help

It's about timing. You'll get the timing mostly right once and then realize that you nailed some portion of the maneuver. Then once you figure out how to time it going in, you can focus timing everything in the middle. Eventually that will work pretty well and you'll only fall on the exit, then you ...

Re: Hydrofoil in 8/12 knots at 80Kg(176lbs) rider what kite size better?

Below 10 knots LEI's relaunch more often. Below 10 knots foil kites crash less often.

Decide which advantage you'd prefer to have in your pocket; I chose to go with the kites that crash less often in light wind and haven't regretted it. YMMV.

Re: Do I need to do lock stitching on a brummel splice??

Kite line is so thin and the braids are so fine that I'd feel totally comfortable recommending a straight bury if you're conscious about including a nice long tail. That being said, all my lines have brummels in them because I enjoy the art of complex splices and usually make line sets when watching...
