people should recalibrate they wind meters whenever they talking about kitesurfing in 50knts especialy on 7m kite. All these claim are BS for anybody who ever witness real 50kts. In real 50 knts you have problem to stand or walk.
No way man, I ride a hydrfoil on an 8m in 60 knots with 35m lines.

Re: I bit the bullet...all your fault! Lol

The biggest thing to get right is the stiffness of everything, the more places the whole setup can wobble, the harder it is to learn how to ride. That's why top of the line race gear is so rock solid stiff, it's so it's easy to go crazy fast. This is also why the entry level gear is stiff, but heavy...

No way that board will work with a foil, I'd definitely look into something stiffer that isn't built to flex the way a board like that is.

Re: Bar without Trim adjustment

Foil kites have so much wind range, I feel like a trimless bar would really limit how and when you can use your kite. Not to say it wouldn't be nice and clean, but having the ability to change line lengths on the fly while riding is a big multiplier, especially with a hydrofoil. I agree. But you ca...

Re: Aluminium Clearwater

The more I think about it, the more I like it. yeah, I like the modular approach here. Build a wing from their template, then mess with it all you want to get it right, or build others from your own template. It's a foiling tinkerer's dream! The most complex part is done for you and all the customi...

Re: The stagnant foiler.

There are people who are deeply passionate about long distance kayaking who never learn anything more advanced than how to dip their paddle into the water and propel themselves forward. Sounds like the stagnation is in your mind, not in foiling. If you want to someday beat Nico around the race cours...

Re: how important is pre-inflation?

I've found pre-inflation to be most beneficial in stronger winds. If you don't inflate, the wind hitting the bottom skin sort of just collapses the kite on itself, the vents don't get enough pressure to overcome this really, so the kite usually launches and then immediately wraps the wingtips. If yo...

Re: One kite for old school AND foiling

12m or 15m foil kite. Checks all your boxes except the lowend grunt, which let's be real "hangs in light wind" and "lowend grunt" aren't in the same category.
