Re: Unhooking for big boys!!

Even with my total lack of physics101 knowledge...... there's no way my 65kg buddy is holding the same force at the bar as me at 125kg. He's on a 9 & im on 13..... I doubt it. Thanks windchaser & Jerome. Windchaser@ you're totally right.... I thrash my gear. last year I went through 4 boards, and it...

Unhooking for big boys!!

Hey folks. Struggling with this unhooking business, so coming to the good folks at KF for opinions. I'm 125kg of kite flying madness, and I'm looking for advice from other big & heavy riders that unhook, or are learning to unhook. I appreciate people's input, but in all fairness, if you weigh 75kg w...

Re: 2016 switchblade and overdrive 1x trim lite bar

WORST BAR EVER!!!!!!!! bought one new thinking it would be great to have one bar for all my kites. used it for 30minutes, then swapped over to my old frankenbar. Sold it within 48hours for half what I payed for it. Cabrinha bars are like masturbating with a condom on..... it doesn't feel right, and ...

Re: pleaseeee help

meh....... I learnt without lessons. The learning curve was a long one. It took a good solid summer season to figure out how to properly launch and waterstart. But by the end of the season I was jumping. so..... you don't "have" to take lessons. But I'd advise that you at least ride with other peopl...

Re: Bomb proof kiteboard

Get the Tona POP don't get the Tona Flow unless 90% of your riding is load & pop wakestyle. Im deff not affiliated, but I've had both and swear by them both. Im 125kg.... and I destroy gear!!!!!! (last year was 4 boards and too many kites) The Tona's really are built right. The decks are double any ...

Re: splicing Slingshot lines?

Strangely enough, I find the front lines easier to splice on the Slingy bars. Plenty of videos out there to help you. I've tried them with a d-splicer and with splicing fids, but find the best result are with a bit of thin wire from a hardware store. I usually use a pair of pliers to grip the wire. ...

first foil build advice

My enthusiasm and knowledge on foiling is non-existent. Just figured id give myself a little hobby over the winter, and can make something half decent and bring it along for all the local crew to have a flop around on. ive made a few boards, mostly twinny's and a wakeskate, so ive a little shaping &...

Re: What is your favourite wind speed?

My perfect wind is smack on 20kn. 20kn gives me perfect boost on the 14...... But still enough power to jump on the 11 and try new stuff and not get worked. Th...

Re: Technique for getting up goofy side?

oh man! I struggled with this at the start! I could ride really confident on my left foot and happily pop off waves and swell, but I couldn't for the life of me ride more than 50m on my right. if that! I used to come back to shore riding toeside and get pushed way down wind. the trick to it is..... ...
