Re: Recognize this mast?

... I’d like to buy one in a 60-70 cm length... Hi John, sorry never seen this construction but, also never seen anything similar from point of force transmission. The top head on the end is a box system similar to known kf-box or tuttle with the difference that those boxes have more than the doppl...

Re: Large compact wings for surfing on a hydrofoil

Hi Peter, I was also impressed by the upwind, as the conditions have been far far from good and the very fat round leading edge of Gong wings doesn't look like high performer. - With a AR 7 carbon mono wing, a streamlined wetsuit and a 11 m² sonic race the best upwind: 28°out of 4 following tacks, w...

Re: Large compact wings for surfimg on a hydrofoil

So, in same order as posted, of course profile and outline means a lot but the outer measurements are the first we meet and also crucial in terms of how fast they turn versus how lousy they go upwind. Depends from setup  , the gong wings are pretty fat with more than 3 cm of thickness. Tried ...

Re: Foil Jumping Pictures/Videos & Tips

@Gunnar: Very nice, I still like the old school stuff. I think the following video was one of the reasons that motivates me, 15 years ago, to switch from other soft kites to my first flysurfer ps1, shown in the video: @flat blokes can fly: That's what you maybe mist all the years  https://www....

Re: Flying Wing Commentary

Hi lightandfrost, I was hopeing one day somebody will design a "flying wing only" monofoil wing. But after 2 years of testing more than 10 different wings and riding the most used three wings each about 20-100 times (AR 7 - 3,5 and 580 - 990 mm²): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn_2a1zl9pQ https://...

Re: Has anyone redrilled a Moses T40 for a new mast position?

Are there any stringers in the T40? No idea, but I had the same questions towards some boards, weather there is a stringer and where are the reinforcements and therefore: Can I drill and where is it more easy... So I already checked many boards also just by interest for their inner structure with a...

Re: How to Sit on a foil

Hi Foil, about getting back there is an short explanation on the end of the following Topic, which should already answers most questions. In short just do the movement from the video in reverse play: http://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=196&t=2397173&p=985330#p985330 Starting on the knees from stand...

Re: Best "FreeRace" Foil Kite?

But, how does one get experience with high AR foil kites without actually flying them??? Hi Yodarocket31, what I wanted to say is, it is not the question of getting this experience or not, but of how to get this experience. To give an extrem example, I as wave beginner would not start at Nazaré to ...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Hi grigorib, yes a big board in the beginning is very important especially as learning flying jibes and tacks on mono is a long way to go. I started with boards of around 1,4 m myself. And a short strut is not necassarily helpful but can be the opposite, I would recommend 0,9 - 1 m. I have been very...
