Re: Cape Town - Drought

50L per day per person is the current water allowance.
By the 9th of April it could be down to 25L, which will have to be collected from water trucks.

Basically the situation is not good at all.

Re: Trim Issue North Dice 11m

How much wind? My 12m Dice is a really nice kite, except if the wind is too light. It does not like to fly in light wind. Unlike some kites that will get along with a little power, my 2015 Dice will produce almost no power. Like an ON/OFF switch. Works perfectly until it doesn't anymore, without muc...

Re: Wrap alu mast with carbon fiber for stiffness

Actually carbon and aluminium have very similar heat expansion coefficients, which is why aluminium moulds/mandrels work well for prepreg carbon. However, permanently bonding the two isn't a very good idea: they will form a galvanic couple. On carbon spars, all aluminium or stainless steel parts are...

Re: Riders announced for Red Bull King of the Air 2018

Does it get even stronger the further you go north? Or does it drop? General rule of thumb is it decreases, but it depends on specific spots. Those thermal winds can be very tricky. A mountain or something in the far distance can affect the wind on the shore. If you're in Langebaan, you could be si...

No. I'm not good enough to justify wearing boots. I would look a lot cooler though  there a quiet some who think like this...they for sure can tell you more about their experiences with crashes :naughty: I personally can never imagine wearing boots...having so many crashes where I kicked my bo...

Re: How do KBs keep from drowning when they wear boots

That's part of the reason why not everyone should ride in bindings.

The trick is essentially to keep the board at a positive angle of attack when it is behind you. Then it is a lot of twisting the body.
Basically not for beginners.

Re: How to ruined your vacation with Core

I drove my car into a tree because I got confused and steering the wrong way. Now it is badly damaged and will probably never be the same again. It must be the manufacturer's fault for not making the car strong enough. Most people pump their kite right up to 10 or 12 psi, as much as they can push on...
