Re: Duotone...North who?

TBH I'd be happy to have kites with absolutely no markings on other than the size that I can see when pumping up. And yes, I have before now put a 6m in a 8m bag and vice versa then pumped up and launched the 8m thinking it was a 6m then thinking f*** me, didn't think it was this windy! Then when I ...

Re: Kitesurfing steering lines shorter than power lines

Before retuning a bar and stretching lines I first wet the lines.

And don't forget to replace that trim line ...

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

10-12knots, 11m tube, tt , 65kg. Good luck. If after however long you struggle on that 11m and per chance don't give up, you will be on a much more powerful kite like a 15m foil, or... a hydrofoil. Riding underpowered is much harder than overpowered. Riding overpowered is easy you just need strong ...

Re: Wetsuit rubber going bad - anything to do?

If the neck is not already tight you could get some soft neoprene stitched over the top.

Re: Casualty in Sicily

It's a male machismo thing, nobody wants to appear to be "chicken". If I have someone to launch my kite at the upper end of its wind range I'll often ask them to hang on for a minute in case I decide not to go. I kite in the UK Solent where squalls can suddenly develop and if I see one coming I get ...

Sounds good?
If the 11m has a good low end, yes.

Re: Is my instructor bias regarding buying gear?

You need a 12m kite which works with a low V bar, and reasonably strong because you *will* crash it. 4 line kite that has equal length lines (because that's pretty much the standard now). A 2016 or later Slingshot Rally or Airush Lithium for example - 3 struts is good. Avoid specialised kites, you n...

Re: Hmmm, this Sunday should be 'interesting' ...

Weird, beeb currently showing 17mph for Camber on Sunday. Different story with windguru though! Looks like it will be the 12m again... :) The beeb luvvies are still at the Brighton love-in. Have a look at XC Weather which I generally find to be the most reliable UK south coast forecaster. Hmmm, this Sunday should be 'interesting' ...

Sustained 47+ knots (Strong Gale 9 to Storm 10) gusting 63+ knots (Violent Storm 11 to Hurricane 12).

Should I go out on my 6m or should I stay at home with my wife and make the next year's supply of tomato chilli pesto?

Decisions decisions.
