Re: LF MaxFlow Valve Leaks After Tomahawk

It's happened to me very occasionally, sometimes strangely when not even crashing the kite but just flying and it seems to randomly lose air and start jellyfishing. I have some rituals I always do after pumping the maxflow like running my finger along the tongue to make sure it has a nice tight seal...

Re: Controlling Speed

Board control is the most important. If you start to get out of control, you can put more weight on your back foot and either edge harder upwind or bear off downwind a bit. Think of it like doing a powerslide on a skateboard to stop, (youtube it if you dont know what that is), you don't necessarily ...

Re: Please measure your line lengths!

Are you measuring from the barends or at the end of the leader lines? The leader lines add a bit, so that could explain it. Plus line stretch over time.

Re: Anyone else dodging "flying fish"?

Used to get hit by them all the time kiting in Florida. I actually got a shallow cut halfway up my calf from one of them that had sharp little fins as it jumped out at me while riding.

Re: Why two regular shaped twintips?

136 and 144 sounds like a bit of a waste to me personally, you'll get a little extra glide out of the bigger one but not to such a degree that it makes it worth having another board. I'd go with two very different boards, like something in your normal size (132-134 for me) and something really big f...

Re: Harness Position

Waist harness should be around your waist (convenient name) I like to have it as tight as humanly possible to try and stop it riding up. IDK if this is the generally accepted "correct" method or not. I'm pretty sure this is what most people do, but at some point I started keeping it slightly looser...

Before retuning a bar and stretching lines I first wet the lines.

And don't forget to replace that trim line ...
I haven't heard of this before. What does wetting them do?

Re: Kitesurfing steering lines shorter than power lines

Riding 3-4 days a week I have to stretch my rear lines about once a month. Its a pain in the ass but it's just part of kiting, there is just way more load on the front lines than the rears. That's a pretty nice bar, I would definitely keep it maintained and not rush into buying a different one. One ...

Re: Mouth Mount for GOpro, high probability of injury the face?

I use a $10 one from amazon and made sure that it has big enough breathing holes, so that isn't a problem. Jaw gets tired after a while but I can usually ride with my jaw relaxed enough, and only bite when filming to keep it steady. I keep mine on an elastic necklace that it came with, but find that...
