Re: Second board advice for 210 dude

150 is going to feel like a door unless you're like 7ft tall. if you really need that much more surface area for light wind i'd probably look at something that's more fun to ride, like a foil

Re: Ebay dispute

this story really hits home for me... i once bought a 7m used for a very low price, flew it in the gorge all summer on the 30+ knot days, no issues... turned it around and sold it as "no issues/repairs" and the buyer asked why I didn't mention it had been ripped in half. I thought I was being scamme...

Re: Just how common are foot injurys in kiteboarding?

The only foot injury I've had with any not-foilboards is the straps rubbing skin off the top of my feet (wish I could solve that problem but all straps I've tried do it for me). But for foiling, I've broken a toe on either foot while switching feet, and fractured my 1st metatarsal when falling over ...

Re: Strapless surfkite board fins

in my experience: quads dont have a center fin, so will feel looser in the middle of a turn, for me it means it's easier to slide out. But when you set a rail it grips better because you have two fins instead of 1. people usually say a thruster gives you more of a pivoting turn but ive found (depend...

Re: Which bars work for Flexifoil kites?

I think the 2013 best bar had a high-Y split, didn't it? I can't remember which year they changed them to the V. The Y would slow down turning a bit and remove some feel out of the kite (at least in my experience with these bars)

I would think any bar with a V would work fine

Re: Need advice for beginner - kite size

for true 11-14 knots I'd probably look at something around 13-14m for that weight. 14 knots is ok but 11 knots is barely enough for me to ride on anything but a foil at 65kg with any size kite

Re: how thick wetsuit for hood river

From June I had a 3/2 full suit that I wore most days, and a 2mm shortsleeve shorty for when it was hot during the height of summer (July/Aug) and was comfortable all the way through late october-ish. Also have a 5/3 but only wore it a couple times toward the end of the season.

Re: Cabrinha Switchblade base collars

There should be one on each end of the tube, one for each valve. If you lost one in the water during the crash (or just can't figure it out) you can always just use a zip tie instead, that's what most brands (used to?) use

Re: Concave or Flat for Lakes

I dont know what your typical wind speed is, but the influence has just enough rocker for me that I can feel it in the lighter days. If this is at all a concern I'd go for a flatter board like the spark plug, because it has been the difference between a fun session and a struggle a bunch of times fo...

Re: 11 or 12?

If you like your 14, you could also grab a 10m instead, and when it's time to replace the 9 switch it for an 8. Depends on your usual wind conditions though.
