Re: Concave or Flat for Lakes

I dont know what your typical wind speed is, but the influence has just enough rocker for me that I can feel it in the lighter days. If this is at all a concern I'd go for a flatter board like the spark plug, because it has been the difference between a fun session and a struggle a bunch of times fo...

Re: 11 or 12?

If you like your 14, you could also grab a 10m instead, and when it's time to replace the 9 switch it for an 8. Depends on your usual wind conditions though.

Re: Question from a Noobie

The main thing I would be concerned about isn't so much the kite design, it's definitely improved but even gear from like 2010 is still fine today, especially for a beginner. I'd be more worried about the glue holding the valves together. You can nuke a kite in less than a year if you leave it in a ...

Re: USA Second hand Kitesurf market

If youre just buying, there are some great consignment shops as well. I've bought a handful of kites from Windance (www.windance.com) and check their used section every so often for good deals. Sometimes they get new-ish kites that are put on consignment pretty cheap. That way you also know you're g...

Re: How does the safety system work on this Flexifoil bar?

Also if you intend on using this on the water, feed your leash through the chickenloop before clipping onto the ring. If this is a similar model to the one I had, the whole chicken loop detaches, so it'll disappear in the water forever when you eject if the donkey dick isnt clipped in.

Re: Is directional more fun than door in LW?

both are pretty boring imo the only kind of big board i've ridden and liked somewhat is the north nugget. flat and has a ton of volume so it goes upwind well enough in light wind vs riding a normal sized twintip or surfboard. definitely doesnt have the upwind that a board like a sector would with th...

Re: Scoring of tricks in GKA air games?

competition is how everything moves forward, whether youre just having fun with your friends trying to get a better turn on a wave or throw a trick they cant do to push each other. or if youre on the tour and pushing your gear and your ability to the absolute limit and progressing the sport forward....

Re: fastest free ride hydrofoil?

New to the sport, but years foiling behind the boat. Can you shim the foils like we do typically on air chair or Skyskis? Meaning, add more angle to the wings causing them to apply more lift sooner. We always tuned the old cast aluminum foils with a dime in the correct location making them fly easi...

Re: dynamic differences with seat and waist harness

since the straps on the seat harness go around your upper legs, it restricts your movement a little bit in comparison to a waist harness. It also moves the tow point much lower, so when leaning back into your board edge it puts the bar in an awkward spot unless you are riding overpowered and can kee...
