Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

Wakestyle isn't dead, it's just difficult. Surfboards, foils and such are a nice break from working on your wakestyle moves. Don't worry people will go back to wakestyle. edt has it right. It’s the most difficult branch of the sport. Most people don’t have the time to progress in it, and the vast m...

Re: 2 kites quiver: 8m and 12m?

get the 12 and 9 and pick up a cheap 7m second hand for the nuking days if you actually get enough days for a 7 i did 12 and 8 for a while and you can make it work, but there will always be those days where you're overpowered on one kite and underpowered on the other and it's not much fun 11/8 could...

Re: Is Wakestyle dead?

probably has a lot to do with the world tour falling apart. seems very fragmented now, the only real competitions left are the core wakestyle ones like triple s, hood river slider jam, etc

Re: biggest regret purchase

2012 cabrinha switchblades and bars. i didn't like the one i took a lesson on but figured it was old, and 99% of people around here fly switchblades so i figured i would like the newer one. kites were mushy and unresponsive, the lines on the bar stretched 6 inches in the first few months, and one of...

Re: Convert 2016 Best GP bar to four lines possible?

What he describes is how virtually all modern flagging systems work, so it should be fine as long as the hole is big enough for the line to easily slide through. I'd also check that there aren't any sharp edges or bits of plastic that could cause the line to wear over time as it slides around, since...

Re: WOO on Android problem, needs Google Account?

Thank you for the suggestions. I believe that no amount of data tracking is a good thing. In 2003 I wrote to the BBC about the future of mobiles, and predicted the smart phone, I saw where it was going. I also saw biometric linking to devices so that the authorities knew you were in x location, not...

Re: Strapless Backroll, Frontroll, Backspin or Frontspin?

Thats the same trick. You dont have to go all Toby on the tricknames. Just call it a front rotation :thumb: And its really difficult without straps  I would suggest you start out with a grabbed backroll over a kicker, grabbing the board heelside with your front hand front/back rolls are invert...

Re: Convert 2016 Best GP bar to four lines possible?

I will take a look at my 2014 bar tonight. It should be reasonably simple, especially if you are willing to do a mini-fifth by splicing the existing 5th line into one of the two front lines. They are damn good bars, only thing I dislike is the QR. Replace it with a North or F-one QR and the bar is ...

Re: Would I learn faster by shortening the kite lines?

i wouldn't waste your time. if you're already getting up and riding short distances then you are over the hard part, it's just a matter of practice now until it's second nature
