Re: Smallest possible LEI kite size for best low end

I have a 10m LEI no strut and bought a 12m LEI no strut as I got a great deal on it and thought I would gain more bottom end. The extra weight of the bigger kite can work against it, so I didn't gain anything extra at the bottom range on the foil, as I can work the 10m more aggressively and it stays...

Re: Nash Trip as budget friendly lightwind option..

PF - to directly answer your question, yes I find my 10m Trip has more power than a normal 10m strutted kite - same as a 12m or bigger, as I used to ride these, imho.

I would be out on my 10mTrip with a TT whilst others were on 12m and 14m kites on TT also.

Re: Nash Trip as budget friendly lightwind option..

I am still using my 10m Trip from 2013 - can get going in 8kts no problem on foil. 10kts plus on skimboard, Top end range maxing out at 22kts on a TT. Love the Trip and find it a shame they stopped making it. Kite will stay in the air at 7kts, anything less than that you need to keep it working a li...

Re: How to Assemble a Naish Foil Set

The 2017 Naish foil (Liquid force wings) used Allen key heads for foil and mast connections and some nuts with nylon washers on Allen key heads for base plate mounting - all tools were provided with the foil set and even one spare screw and nut for the base plate mounting. Sounds like a shame they c...

Re: kite low AR easy relaunch or race for hydrofoiling?

Look for a light weight specific LEI (many manufacturers now have kites aimed at foiling) or a foil kite if you want under 10kts reliability for the kite to stay in the air. If your experience is with LEI kites, I would suggest you stick with those. In light weight LEIs you don't need big sizes - th...

Re: Hydrofoil in 8/12 knots at 80Kg(176lbs) rider what kite size better?

If you a heavier rider, then a 12m should be fine (maybe a 14m if you are really a heavy person) - I use a 10m strutless kite for all HF conditions above 7kts, but I am light (70kg)! As you post you are 80kg, this is border line for the 10m, so I would recommend the 12m. Larger kites (i.e.17m) have ...

Re: DIY onestrut kite

If you're aiming at very light winds, keep in mind that every gram counts! I observed that light wind kites use a huge wide and heavy inflating valve and single pump connector. So following your simplicity concept, here are my 2c : Save the weight. - use two old little valves, one for the leading e...
