Amazing, very well remembered Revhed :thumb:

It was 3½ years ago, but with a lot of words only without simple illustrations it is not easy to understand for newbees, this is why I made a new updated one :naughty:

Re: How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

PS: This was a pretty long answer to Neil and slowboat in the other thread, but I think others could use it to understand how to turn a hydrofoil thus its own thread :thumb:

How to turn a hydrofoil - and what is YAW ?

Hi, during the years this question has been put many times, very understandable as it DOES NOT turn like you are used to. Had some time yesterday after a surf session, and today waiting for wind or company, and will explain here: When riding a twintip or a surfboard or a skateboard or a snowboard, w...

Re: Balance question - before I get my drill out....

Unless I'm mistaken I see two mast mounts already drilled and you put your mast in the wrong mast holes they need to be in the other set near the front. looks like there are 6 mast holes drilled so you can move the mast back where you have it or took the front holes where it should be Agree fully, ...

Re: North Pro-Foil board settings?

Hi Guys, Any suggestions as to what the alien code on North Pro-Foil means? Jokes aside. What would be a good starting point for a beginner limited foiling experience? Have my straps in forward position, going to take back strap off I think or might take off all together. Have some Kite wakeskating...

Re: carving to toe

We are discussing beginners who can not carve or turn yet, that was my point. Of course when you have learned, kite up or down turns works easy and each has their own place when to be used, or just what one likes :thumb: Am describing some of the differences especially for new riders trying to carve...

Re: carving to toe

You are right about that Tadeusz, but for someone who has not learned turning the hydrofoil yet, it is NOT easy at all... And the downside with downloops for experienced riders are still, that you get the powerspike at the wrong moment namely going out of the turn and the kite is lower - meaning you...

Re: carving to toe

This is really helpful. Can you explain in more detail how the timing and technique is different: surface vs foil carve to toeside with downloop? I can yes. When you downloop riding on the surface, you go so slow and not much downwind, that you will follow the kite around just like on a surfboard. ...

Re: carving to toe

Isn't the easiest way to learn this is the be on the surface and downloop and just let the kite pull you around? Then when you are comfortable, do the same in the air. IMO no, as this will only teach you to learn to make an almost "normal" turn like you do on a TT or a surfboard, which is really ea...

Re: carving to toe

Hi all, apologies I have posted about this already but not yet tried it and have another question! I am getting better with my downwind angles and managing to get fairly deep now, especially if its onshore with a small swell running to pick up. If I am going to carve to toe (bringing the kite over ...
