Re: LF Impulse Foil

Anyone been on this yet? They collaborated with Cloud 9 foils. Looks to be free ride foil, really forgiving. I ride the Ghost Whisperer and would love to know what the differences would be. Was thinking of picking up an extra set of wings. Was also wondering if these wings are compatible with the g...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

So the ideal database would have weight and measured area of each kite? Projected area is tougher to measure, so we just have to take the manufacturers' word for it? Hmmm, more data is often better, but in this respect not really IMO  If you have the flat area, that is just fine. The camber a...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

To make meaning of this comparison, weight them inflated to recommended PSI. Because air inside the tube has mass as well, different PSI and tube volume has effect. Inflate, put a hanging scale and read the readout. Unless you want the lightest kite only for travelling package. Way too difficult, a...

Re: One strut kites - which the lightest of them all?

I have a 12m Solo and a 17m C2. The Solo will fly in 6 knots, foil in 8. The C2 will fly in 4.5 knots, foil in 6. When I read people saying the if their kite will fly they can foil it makes me think their kites don't handle lulls very well. Agree that if saying so, their kites are heavy and dont ha...

Re: Moses Quality Control is ... you decide

Agree - it does not matter at all, and no reason to worry :thumb: BWD put it right with this comment, that says it all, actually a lot more than most are aware about: You are a lot better off with a very tough, well made prepreg with pinholes than with something that looks like a flawless diamond ma...

Re: Lift introduces electric foil!

Isn't there a way to just design a motor/fan for propulsion that can be attached to the mast, or two motors in parallel, that can be mounted on the mast, close to the fuselage. Modular - so you can add/remove when ever you want. That would be a lot cheaper, as a few people already have the Board an...

Re: On Shore Wave Kites

My take on things (confirming what some of you already said): * To have fun, at least a couple of degrees side here and there are a must, fully completely on does not cut it for me. Kite: * Fast * very quick-turning, with defined feedback * Must fly upwind very well * Must drift nicely and with sta...

Re: Moses 2018

Hej Peter, No wind this weekend, really busy at work, preparing for going to Tokyo for work Jan 24- feb1. Won't be motivated Feb 3-4 with jet lag and then leaving feb9. Maybe on a trip I'll do some foiling in Japan... Aaah, that makes sense and what I thought :thumb: Skandinavians are usually not p...

Re: Leaking Boston Valve

Have had the same issue. Friction with rubber seal kicks in before it becomes air tight. A bit of spit on both sides of the washer will usually does it, a longer term solution is something like a dab of molycote on both sides of the washer, careful though this will attract sand. You mean, the same ...

But it does....

Totally related :thumb:

Sitting deep means bad upwind, no discussion about that :naughty:
