Re: Goofy versus regular surf riding

Peter you seem like a regular guy :thumb: Ha haa, thanks PullStrings, but very rare I get to ride on that side here, so my goofy side has evolved and now being stronger/more fluid now (okay, lets not be too cocky and instead say, my goofy is not totally as bad as my regular). So having windsurfed a...

Re: Goofy versus regular surf riding

Just for the récord Peter : when i'm talking right/left handers ,i'm refering to WAVES peeling to the right or to the left .....not need to know what hand you use to write..... Of course, that goes without saying :thumb: We are talking regular versus goofy riders on left or righthanders (waves), an...

Re: Hydrofoil Videos

You might be right, but it might also just be because the kitewing/windsail is easily available because of years of use in skiing, so of course some use it on hydrofoils, either because it works well, or just for the fun of trying to do it with these. Dont know, but lets see how it turns out - I am ...

Re: Goofy versus regular surf riding

The REAL kiteboarding shop in Cape Hatteras ran a video wave riding competition and of the six winners, three are goofy and three regular. Given that the vast majority of riders should be regular, that's a remarkably even split. I wonder if goofy riders are a bit more creative? Like Jalou Langaree....

Re: Hydrofoil Videos

Isnt that the good old "Wingsail" like we had back in the late 80s?

We had one here too.

Maybe slightly tweaked now as simply removed the mast because foiling does not require the same power, but pretty much the same:

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Agree fully with edt and IainMacaskill, we dont want or need "wakeboarding" which is a totally different sport, far away from the wind powered lovely sport we got. There is a reason why so few do both - some freestylers yes, but overall not many. So bring it on, every new type of kite is interesting...

Re: alcohol and kitesurfing :-)

I dont understand the purpose of this thread at all, as I dont see any connection with these two different topics "alcohol and kitesurfing"??? Btw, IF any, the very best way to "recover" after being totally wasted all night at a great party - is to go surfing the next morning/day, it really works wo...

Re: Onda633 fuselage too heavy, any way to make a carbon one?

Yep, Horst is also <60kg :) The windsurfer carbon mast has really thin walls, can stand on it no probs, where is like 35mm in diameter. So having wrapped wood in carbon with 28-30mm diameter should be strong enough for heavy riders. It all depends how is wrapped, as you know...plus, the grain posit...

Re: Ideal foil depth for wave foiling?

Does mast length 91 compared to 101 have a big difference in handling of wings for carving /riding waves ? No, cant really feel the difference in terms of handling in this respect between these two, only if choppy you will ventilate and crash just a tad more often with the 91 than the 101 but you c...
