Re: Convertible surf board

Maybe you can get a plate to KFBox adapter ?

I have used this excellent adapter from Zeeko, on the spitfire, to fit on all my KFBox boards :thumb:

Re: Going from Short Mast to Long mast Advice

Interesting thoughts here... But one thing where I dont agree - I dont find the shorter masts more agile at all, on the contrary... WHEN up and flying that is :thumb: As discussed in another thread, when you go down to say 70 or 80 cm it is not possible to ride as free and hard in carves, as with 90...

Re: Rider weight versus foil classification (wind range)

Zeeko makes different size versions of the Spitfire. I assume a big part of that is rider weight. Actually no. XLW wings for Spitfire were designed to allow slow take-off and flight speeds, so it can be used to ride slower waves for example. XLW is also useful for lighter winds and easier on beginn...

Re: Question about sanding Hydrofoil for less whistling

The "singing" can be a REALLY tricky one..... You dont know what it is, dont have to be the mast, can just as well be the wing or the stabilizer, og the screws and joints. Even wings made in the same mold, can be different, some sings others dont, if just a tad difference in how much resin and how i...

Wasnt it quite difficult to ride - I mean with the nose, tail and the direction the foil points?.. Seems a bit odd that you could get on it, or?..
Are you aware it is a canard hydrofoil, which is ridden with the small wing in front ?

Re: Multiple kites or multiple bars

In short, all kites smaller than 10 m2 works just dandy for hydrofoiling, so you can use "whatever" kites you got in this range. Only when you go to bigger than 10 m2, you need "lighter" kites, as otherwise you will experience they suddenly "drop" in lulls. Possible to ride with these when learning,...

Re: Multiple kites or multiple bars

Difficult to answer, but you can certainly increase your range a lot with an 8 m2 and two linesets 25 and 30 meter yes. I got "loads" of kites, so usually take a bigger kite and use my "normal" 26 meter lines. Only when around or sub 10 knots, or changing winds, I go to 30-31 meter lines with a 9 or...

Re: Would I learn faster by shortening the kite lines?

Shortening your lines is a bad idea :( Yes, for the very beginner who has never flown a kite, short lines are good to learn kite control, without getting too much power, nor hitting anyone as easy, and to learn how the wind window works. It is pretty harmless and you "get the idea" of how things in ...

Re: What got you into Hydrofoiling?

You are correct Tom, Marc Blanc was years ahead of EVERYONE, and did what is only done today, back then 8 years ago. He was not the first no, others got that credit indeed. But he was the first to take it to a totally new level, freestyle/freeride foiling on "new" gear, strapless, and I bow in respe...

Re: What got you into Hydrofoiling?

Not in doubt at all - the video "The Foiler" with Marc Blanc in 2011 did it for me :thumb: Have always dreamed about riding on a magic flying carpet, and my engineering background made me too curious as to how it would feel and work strapless. And not that much later my dream came true, so I was the...
