Re: some proper Wave foiling with a Kite

Yes, so true, riding waves, as well as "surfing" in any way, is all about glide at first, the initial stoke :D And then the next level that keeps the stoke going, is carving, driving fast power carves, or tight wave and acceleration driven carves - that is what makes it all sensational forever, and ...

Re: some proper Wave foiling with a Kite

To Ozbongy, as others have said, you are VERY wrong - you can easily be powered by the wave alone, in fact this does not require a big wing at all if you go along the wave. This is the very point that is interesting, that we can harvest even a flat choppy small wave a lot better than on other boards...

Re: LF Galaxy Board 2019

Bugger if hard plastic, not the "cushioning" effect :x

Then I would use a bit of contact cement at the corners or along the edges, then it will protect against sand grit as it will sit on the board always, and can easily be removed if you for any reason want that later :thumb:

Re: The shorty: 60cm micro board

I’ve tried a few pocket boards with banana rocker and didn’t like it. I don’t like the feeling of my front foot higher than my back. So true, this is why I don't like micro boards eother, as you get your front foot higher if trimmed for okay starts even if flat and for sure if banana, so your front...

Re: Inverted Kite

A classic problem - not the inversion but what we are talking about  An inverted kite is a kite that has turned inside out, flying with the bottom side up. A tumbled or rolled kite, or "line inversion", is a kite that flies normally but the front and rear lines are twisted/crossed. In below th...

Re: LF Galaxy Board 2019

If it is a rubber gasket, it seems like a really good idea for a bit of protection and you can leave it on the board, I have had such one on earlier plate foils too (Zeeko Spitfire being one of them) - i prefer that instead of the aaaargh crunchy sound when you tighten the screws and sand grit tear ...

Re: Foil - wave riding

Looks really good Gunnar :thumb: Board size is IMO perfect, looks (and feels, have tried shorter and longer) like in harmony and balanced. The very short nose instead of no-nose is a lot better, more practical and when one occasionally gets over the white water on the surface, it is really so much e...

Re: some proper Wave foiling with a Kite

Wave riding with a foil (and kite) is essentially a nascent sport still waiting for "style leaders" to emerge who will influence the rest of us. (remember, until very recently people were asking if it was even possible) People who try to judge it through the lens of wave riding with a surface board...

Re: Small modification to Moses T60 board idea - your thoughts?

Get some conical washers and countersunk screws. The washers are pulled down into the deck pad and you're left with a smooth flat surface to stand on. You can still feel them with your feet so you've got tactile feedback for foot placement. Exactly, and they will only strengthen the local pressure ...

Re: Moon on a stick?

Thinking that I want a new surfboard that I can surf, kitesurf, and attach a hydrofoil to when needed into a tuttle box on the board which I would have to router out. Does anyone do this, or am I wanting the moon on a stick? I can not see any reason why it would not work, quite well indeed :D Not p...
