Re: how long is too long?!

I rode with 35 meter lines today, with a 12 m2 Storm Voyager Limited Edition (strutless LEI). Wind around 7 knots, maybe 8 in puffs. I could not compare neck and neck as the sun was setting, so only my "feel": Timing is a bit different - but maybe just the same as from 26 to 30 which is also differe...

Re: Learning with Zeeko Carver vs Green

There are pros and cons of both a bit small and a bit bigger wing "sizes" indeed. When you learn, you ride with a bigger kite thus too much power when up and foiling even if for an instant, and your problem will be control and to avoid getting lifted too fast (in fact "ejected" out of the water). As...

Re: Moses 2018

I‘m in my second Foilseason now and had two sessions with my new Fluente (590). I understand that 633 provides more lift and stall speed is further reduced so that any manouver attempts could be practised at lower speeds. What I do no not understand so far: isn‘t it a con that kite sizes needed are...

Re: One Board - Kite and Surf Foiling

Can not say for sure, but must say on "internet" experience only, that I doubt that one can use the same board for both…. Either it will be way too big when powered reasonably for kitefoiling, meaning feeling clumsy and catching edges etc, and/or it will be too small for a good surf foil  8) PF

Re: how long is too long?!

I think the best answer is just go try it. People are always asking in this forum about what's the "right" line length. Wouldn't it suck if you took the advice of some random here on the forum who told you "such and such length is the longest never go above it" and only figured out years later that...

Re: how long is too long?!

Good question - sorry to say I dont know… Mostly because I have found 29-32 m to be a good length to get a lot of extra punch both on a not too big foilkite and a LEI kite, but still a comfy length for fun and carving too and does not feel "long" or a nuisance in any way :D I think, but honestly don...

Re: Dealing with Foil Caught in Bar

I honestly dont think board size matters at all, nor the bar... Small boards can shoot up and get caught when kite is low and you crash, just as easy as bigger boards in my experience, in fact easier as I believe we use the smaller boards in a lot more wind than the big ones, so statistically a lot ...

Cool foil "bar" :naughty:

And shows how smooth a hydrofoil rides even in that chop :thumb:

Re: Vertical Stabilizer on Liquid Force Rocket Foil

Nice to see the 3D stab, cool :thumb: In my experiences it is personal taste, just like a windsurf waveboard where some like really small twinzer fins so it becomes skaty and loose, others like a regular fin that gives more drive in the bottom turns and on the wave and better "hold" when pushed hard...
