Re: At last ... got to ride the Rebel (2018) and XR5 back to back

Wind - about 26 to 32 Kite size - Both 9m Bars - North click bar and the Sensor on the Core Rider - 155 lbs Overall I was extremely impressed with both kites. The wind was really gusty at times and felt really comfortable on each. Both also have alot of high end. I didn't have to depower each more ...

Re: 2018 EVO

We've ridden the neo since its inception to. It's a damn good wave kite and not a bad freestyle strapless SB kite to (one of the four riders is into that SB strapless freestyle stuff...I'm too set in my ways to learn that stuff, its too damn hard). Hasn't changed much in the past two years, because ...

Re: 2018 EVO

I mainly ride with 4 other blokes. We have used and ridden north kites since 2011...(Myself earlier). We have all ridden 12 plus year, one 14 seasons, me 18th season now. Between us we have 2016/2017's Rebels, Dices and Evos. We regularly swap between them. Also have had the 2014 and 2015 dices and ...

Re: 2018 EVO

Well we have been on the new evo. It is quite different. If you like your 2016's try and get yourself a run-out 2017. That's unless you really have a priority for a better drifting kite. Three struts and much more power dumped quickly on the throw, they have moved it closer to a wave riding freestyl...

Re: Megaloop Boardoff

Competitions can’t really do all that much for the image of the sport, and Kite companies are into sales, so they are limited to whatever the bean counters say. Their boss is the bank! So, they aim at the lowest common denominator... not the most sophisticated consumers! Maybe strapless wave is not ...

Re: Megaloop Boardoff

Riders like Aurelien capture the imagination of the majority of riders and the general public. Increasing Interest through broadcasting essentially becomes monetized. Why the big brands don't realise this (and continue to promote this specialised wakeboarding try-hard copycat) style as the pinnacle ...

Re: Could someone please invent a better way to self land a kite in high wind.

Let me anticipate the pedants ... blah blah sand bag blah stake in the ground blah. Sometimes I get out of the sea a long way from where I got in. I may get out quickly to avoid a squall and want to land my kite. YES a real self landing...all by yourself...and nothing else Was in a squall situation...
