Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

I've ridden north kites for years. Always wash my lines in fresh water. It still amazes me after all these years, North/duotone still stick with these horribly inferior line sets. I've been saying this over and over again, but to no avail. People can vouch for my constant tantrums shouting "fckn nor...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

I've looped my 10 and 8m 2017 rebel plenty of times. There is a technique to it, you have to "follow the kite" around the loop more, you also need to watch that it doesn't stall midloop. So don't just fish pole it...lay pressure on the bar in a quick but gradual manner as it turns around the loop. B...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

Though this was a pretty balanced and informative as a long term rebel rider.

Re: 2019 Duotone Click Bar

100% agree. After everything that Duotone put in to their kites and bars to make them one of the top selling brands, they absolutely over look the quality of their lines. One of the worst on the market and has been for a while now. I can't understand why Duotone hasn't fixed this issue because real...

Re: Duotone Rebel 2019

What did the 5th line do that made Rebels so good? I've never tried either variation of them, but I keep hearing guys lament the loss of the 5th line.... I always thought it was just a safety measure for added depower? Did it make the kite jump better somehow? Anyway.....no real interest in either ...

Re: Where did stopper balls go?

I also use them as another trim. Might because we learnt on two line foils with no trim, but a totally depowered kite is a shitty kite. Set the trim using your normal cleat, then a secondary trim using the stopper, giving you the travel you need to optimise the trim level required given gust factors...

Re: 20 Years of Kiting!

The year 2000 is my vintage, so awesome on 1998 start!!! Started on two line foils, (called "new wave" if I remember rightly). On surfboards. No depower. If you guys know the west coast of Australia (and it's crazy winds) imagine someone getting teabagged in 25-30 knots for a good 20km down the coas...

Re: Which 2018 North Kite should I buy??

I’ve heard the same arguments over the years. Bottom line is I can do what most can do on a SB but I reckon most of you couldn’t do what I do on a TT. Cause riding a SB on a wave is the simplest form of kiting possible. We were doing that crap back in 2000 on sbs. Hey you SB riders keep thinking ya ...
