Re: Obx access

The island is being evacuated days in advance anyways. It took 5 years to build a permanent bridge over washout so I don’t believe in urgency of jug handle. Why not to build elevated road just a bit west of current road and certainly not through the sound in front of Mirlo beach. I understand bunch ...

Re: Obx access

FLandOBX Did you happen to notice the new bridge construction down near the houses on Pappy Lane? From the new Hatteras Bridge thread.... http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2392701&start=90 Blake Damn that new bridge. The state is suffering billions of damages from Florence but there’s $1...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

I think advantages are huge - lower weight, simplicity, lower cost, less bulky, lower price.

I believe that arrowhead, swept back wings directly attached to the mast will serve great for that purpose.

Going to borrow H4 and ride it like this. Stoked!

Re: selfish short term kite industry

The video from 2012 seems pretty basic. Dimitry would have collected top 3-4 prizes easily there :) Not sure what evil threat IOC or World Sailing pose. If they’re same money makers as IKO they’re toothless just as much as useless. Not everyone cares about measuring their XXXXX and as long as I get ...

Re: selfish short term kite industry

How about foiling? It is equipping majority of riders with $1000-$2500 equipment and there’s serious progress being made in foils and boards. Foilers are going to want smaller, lighter kites, sliding spreader bar harnesses, short chickenloops. And good old kite models are still pretty good. We kind ...

Re: Casualty in Sicily

The news says that the kiter was "launching" (lanciando). Seems likely that he was launching the kite. To avoid more tragedies like these PLEASE DO NOT LAUNCH HOOKED IN. There is no sense in playing with a loaded gun, even less without knowing if the safety is on. Please do watch my video here or t...

Re: Do you disassemble your foilboard after each use?

My 42” Dwarfcraft fits well on the width into the car so no disassembly needed.

Re: Confusion on Slingshot's 2019 line

I did not have time now to disassemble the foil wing but I did a quick weigh of the 76 wing, small stabilizer and short fuselage and it was about 3.5 pounds. It was not a very accurate scale but should give you an idea of the weight. If you want the weight of just the wing weigh your fuselage and s...
