Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge......this one sucks.

We just need a huge campground or bigger SDA with grass or sand to launch and ride the sound. Kiters’ paradise which is not possible because every tiny piece of wetlands which stretch for 50 miles is protected and no preservation regulations would not allow to make a quarter mile long lawn/beach. I ...

Re: Cabrinha Contra 17 or 19m?

... The 17m Turbine tended to get overpowered at 16-17kts, but where it really struggled was the gusts. My 19m Core has a lot wider range than that 17m. I would just finish sessions with no skin on my hands , a sore back, and tired arms from the bar pressure on the Turbine. ... 16-17 knots means wh...

Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

Dude, if you believe in what you wrote I’d seriously doubt your judgments about anything else you talk about. Not sure which LEI you’re describing but things have changes in past the 15 years even if it sucked that bad as you put it.
You and PMU make a nice pair of severely confused guys.

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge......this one sucks.

Can we get an update of the bridge construction from one of the locals? Just wondering how quickly this new bridge is being built? When I was there in May, there were bulldozers working in behind the Liberty already and a friends wife saw survey stakes out in the Sound just north of Mirlo when she ...

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge......this one sucks.

Havent seen any plans for bridge, but how high will it be over water? Will boats be able to fit under it? Can a kiter keep his kite low and sneak under it.If its windy enough can you jump over it? Maybe build some features into it,sliders etc. https://www.ncdot.gov/projects/nc-12-rodanthe/Pages/defa...

Re: Tube vs Softkite - an epic battle?

you are right, there is indeed one wave foil kite from concept air which I heared it works very well. But only sizes up to 6 sqm are available -sufficiently for foil-boarding, but a little bit small for use with directionals at most days... Maybe concept air will develop bigger sizes in future??? Re: Surf Foils for Kiteboarding?

... even when down at 6 knots I could have fun carving turns back and fourth and a lot easier to avoid "dropping" down, than with any of the smaller wings. Transitions a lot easier too of course. ... After the first session on the 1200 cm2 Surf wing, must say, I might be "a believer" just like many...

Re: Strappless or Strapped for Learning to Foil ??

(...) Straps tell you where you need to keep your feet. Straps also help with balance because you can direct the board by lifting your feet up also. (...) This assumes that the straps are in the correct position FOR YOU, which is a pretty strong assumption... I’d have a good rider to demo the foil ...

Re: Strappless or Strapped for Learning to Foil ??

Hi all, i am just about to learn foiling. Until now my focus in kiting has been strappless on like a 5' 2" surfboard. I would like to continue to just be strappless on the foilboard but wanted to hear from you all on if it is bettter/easier to learn with straps? Thanks in advance...... The safest w...
