Re: 7, 9 and 12 for a 100kg twintip rider

^^^^ agree on “conditions matter” But also kite models matter. Rode 9m Turbine side by side with 12m Catalyst and both I and the owner of the Catalyst agreed that 9m had more power, jumped higher (but had less drift) At 200 lbs my most used kite is 9m but I foil a lot and would avoid jumping session...

Re: 7, 9 and 12 for a 100kg twintip rider

I’m 91kg and my quiver is 7/9/11 for twintip and I had 15m lightwind kite for riding a door. I’d say for 75kg the proper quiver would be 7m and 10m and 13-15m lightwind kite. Certainly not 12m for anything So for 100kg I’d say 17m lightwind kite, 12-14m regular, 10m for 20-30 knots, probably 7-8m fo...

Re: Are you thinking about becoming a foiler?

I don't think there's a valid reason why aluminum foil wouldn't be smooth to ride. Heavier to carry and faster to sink foil down when in water but it can ride just as fine as carbon. I started with carbon MHL Lift because there were no aluminum foils back then and I had fun on mine. Learning on 90cm...

Re: Michael and OBX

I envy those on the island who are going to be able to ride 5m kites and boost to the skies. Lucky you guys!

Re: Are you thinking about becoming a foiler?

Well, I’d say the video is off advertised topic a bit Few things to consider before thinking of becoming a foiler: - you will feel like you’re just learning boardstarts again. 3-4 sessions realistically to ride back and forth with butt down in water to turn board around. With further practice you’ll...

Re: Which bar for petite person / shorter arms

Friend is a petite person and has trouble reaching bar if fully let go and/or trimmer (Cabrinha 1x with Trimlite). Any advice on a bar system which is more suitable for shorter folks? What solution did your friend end up with? I am a short-armed, short person and am evaluating next bar (currently h...
