Re: New regulations on Kite Surfing in Mauritius?

It was a beginner, was having a lesson. His kite went into deathloops, most likely scenario one of his steering lines wrapped around a bar end.. Kite looped and looped and looped and dragged him under the water for a few hundred meters. He unfortunately drowned. No waves involved, it happened upwind...

Re: Mauritius advice please...

Hi all, First post here and a couple of questions about kiting in Mauritius, for anyone that's been. I’m heading over on the 25th Dec. I’m not going just to kite as I know it’s off season for wind, but I’m taking my kit in case any opportunities come up, so might get a few hours in here and there. ...

Re: New regulations on Kite Surfing in Mauritius?

Typical over the top reaction from the authority after an accident happens. It is not enforced and will never be because it doesn't make any sense. Feel free to contact me for more info about kiting in Mauritius. I have recently opened a kite school in the South East, on the beach of Pointe D'esny. ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo stick shift bar

If an Ocean Rodeo ambassador will compare both bars, I feel someone from North's side has to give his opinion too. **Disclaimer** I am the original inventor of the click bar and worked hand in hand with the North design team to get it on the market. I have tried a pre production version of the OR ba...

Re: What bar do you recommend

The North Click bar of course! It suits the foil kites so well since they have really little tension on the steering lines. Clean, super long throw but still have a stopper in case you don't want your bar to go too far. Set your V all the way down if you want or there are three higher options in cas...

Re: Olly Bridge on Flysurfer?

Olly is also riding a hybrid version of the click bar. Hybrid because it has both the click and the normal cleat trim. The idea is to use the cleat for the big depower changes which must happen quickly and use the click for fine tuning. Example: each kite size, depending on the wind strength, might...

Re: Independent review North Click bar

WHy did you need two hands for the stopper? The stopper ball sticks very firmly and needs quite some effort to adjust. Two hands are needed, so for sure it canoot be used "on the fly" anymore. Dave We Test Kites Hi Dave, Thank you for your review of the bar. I am surprised that you found the stoppe...

Re: New North Kitesurfing bar for 2017 (april fools I hope!)

not sure if asked already, but: what happens when kailua kine sand gets into the bar mechanism? you know, powder like . (simple and clean bar setup, but simple? what to do if it fails? who can fix it? service it? my bike needs oil and such, and a bike is simple ) still like to try to see how it wor...

Re: Maintenance of Click North Bar

Regarding the question about the fifth line. Remember that the front lines don't change length anymore. This means that your fifth line doesn't need that stopper under the V split anymore. Your rebel will work exactly like how it used to because the fifth line will be in tension. Now for people worr...
