Re: Poll: King of the Air 2018: Straps vs Boots?

It's Looking like Mr Liam Whaley will be taking his spot. Big air isn't his priority but he spent quite some time in Cape Town and knows how to handle the gnarly conditions well. Hopefully he'll combine some of his most hardcore freestyle moves with high altitude :o I'm not sure if Nick's injury is ...

Re: Poll: King of the Air 2018: Straps vs Boots?

KOTA 2018 will likely be different from previous KOTAs. The event will be held at Kitebeach for the 1st time and the wind is usually stronger there by a significant margin and also more consistent. On the downside there's more chop which should very much help boot's riders as landing and board contr...

Re: Torch 2018

I've not tried the 2018 model but the design doesn't seem to have changed unfortunately. The overall feel hasn't changed much but when ridden with the 5th line extended the kite's bar pressure increases and changes the handling of the kite to some extend. It's a shame because the quad-tex does incre...

Re: Torch 2018

It's very unfortunate bit I've to agree with what has been said on this thread. I've also been riding the Torch for a decade now and the 2017/2018 models have been a big disappointment imo. Yes the low-end is improved by extending the 5th line but it's still not close to the 2016 model. The 2016 had...

Have the less good lowend something to do with the new bar they presented in 2017?. I think otherwise it's a really nice bar
I don't think so as I've used the 2017 bar on older Torches and it works very well with similar low end power.

Re: Torch 2018

I'm also curious about the Torch 2018 low end as the 2017 was lacking some compare to the 2016. Any difference?

Thanks!

I've also tried adding 4-5 cm to the centerline and I came to the same conclusion as you. I'm also curious about the new Torch 2018. Anyone out there has tried it?

Re: Fuel how is it possible?

The pros add a 5th line to the Fuel. It increases its wind range a little and make it a little more docile in its upper range.

Re: Naish Torch 2017 Problems (No Power)

Perhaps.. It does make a little more responsive but I think the big plus w/ the new material is in regards to durability and overall resistance. I crashed it in the waves this season in Cape Town and never had to fixed it as oppose to my older Torch that blew the central panel :(
