Re: Kiteboards: Small Vs Large - Versus Ep 08

Hello Toby, I also wonder about the width. I have (and started) with a very large board and I agree that it is much more usefull for when the wind is not just right; it also makes it possible to go slow so you can vary your speed. I wonder about width because I dont know if there is a "correct" widt...

Re: wings for using smallest kite possible

"But not much difference, compared to what sheer size and camber will give you."

Hello Peter, can you explain why you think camber is so important?

Re: Moving from F-one Bandit V to... Dice, Evo or Rebel?

Thank you eenz; if you get a chance to try both on the low end, it would be interesting to find out. The evo is lighter, will stay up and relaunch easier but the rebel was very good once it was going.

Re: Moving from F-one Bandit V to... Dice, Evo or Rebel?

Hello; could you tell us the diference in wind range of your evo12 and rebel11? I was very impressed with the range of the rebel10 2018 I tested; and wonder if the Evo would be able to go as well in high winds. I weigh 87kg and I coud go upwind with the rebel10 on 12knots of wind with a large twintip.

Re: Importance of wing AR?

Yes, well; even though this wing that you propose could be more efficient at lower speeds, it won't generate as much drag as the speed increases and it would get a speed in which it would be more eficiente?

Re: Importance of wing AR?

I see your point but, then you get the slow wings or the fast wings. I want a wing that can go slow and fast; the low chord ratio makes the low aspect ratio wing less restrictive (or draggy) where trying to go fast and the high surface area makes it possible to glide at low speeds? Also, the low asp...

Re: Importance of wing AR?

Thank you Peter; I wonder what would be the characteristics of a very low aspect wing 1-2, with a very high surface area (1000 cm2) and a very low chord ratio (1-15)? I want to think that it would be a wing that you could go very slow with a high angle of atack (more back foot pressure) but you coul...

Re: Importance of wing AR?

Hello, good to learn a bit in this regard. The other thing that would be good to know is the effect the thickness of the wind compared to the width; it seems to me that 1 to 10 is the norm. But I wonder if this is because a thinner wing would be more efficient but they are not made thinner because o...
