Re: boardshop.co.uk wont care

Ridiculous, that's a hand made board, all it needs is another coat of resin on those areas, and then lightly sanded smooth. it won't affect performance, it's basically custom made, machines don't make mistakes, but they also don't add individuality.

Re: Hello all help with rigging wipika air blast

Give it a go, a lot of us learnt on that kit, and we are still here ! not flying it is like saying " I won't ride that motorcycle because it has drum brakes, or I won't fly that TIger Moth/Spitfire because it's a bit old school" That said, I would suggest you first fly it on a low wind day, and have...

Re: Surfboard's FCS finbox is loose from the board, how to fix it, please?

Sketch.png The black area us the FCS single box, a new unused one has a 2mm wall around the top surface, remove the old box, try to save as much foam core as possible, make a few vertical tubes using a screwdriver , theses are to allow the resin to flow downwards and attach to the inside of the dec...

Re: Surfboard's FCS finbox is loose from the board, how to fix it, please?

Hi, Will reply with full explanation later, when more time.... A new single or fusion box arrives with a 2mm wall around it's upper surface, this wall protrudes above the surface of the board, it's function is to stop resin flowing into the grub screw hole andfin hole, the resin flows out of the rou...

take your time with the resin/hardener mix, a few applications is better than a heat producing mass.

Re: Surfboard's FCS finbox is loose from the board, how to fix it, please?

I'm no expert, but have fixed a few FCS, and a few fake FCS boxs. The fusion ones are much better . As the board is quite thin in that area, it is best to resin the new boxes to both the underside and topside of the board, this can be done after removing the old, earlier single circular inserts, and...

Re: surfboard vs directional kite board

Some very well argued and agreed points, regarding the pro and cons of Strapped and Strapless riding. Good to hear from people who know what they are doing, and a recognition of the "hype" that seems to surround strapless. It's not all hype, but it not always the perfect solution in difficult condit...

Re: Pull the trigger anxiety - Naish Pivot sizing

As Iriejohn says, 12, 9, 7, is better, get a second hand 7m , also I hear the Slash is a very good alternative to the Pivot.

Re: Pull the trigger anxiety - Naish Pivot sizing

Hi, I weigh 75 kilos, and have 2018, Pivots in 12m and 9m, plus 2017 Slash 7m, I very rarely use the 7m Slash. The wind range at my weigh on the 12m is 11/12 knots up to 22 knots, depower pulled in and ok. I could change down to the 9m at 16/17 knots and ride that up to.... not sure but pretty damn ...

Re: Initial direction of body dragging to retrieve board

First thing to do is, immediately try to spot your board, this is important in big chop, and especially important in breaking waves. as a breaking wave can carry the board right past you when you are not looking. you end up body dragging up and down while the board is heading to the beach. In flat w...
