Re: New Mitu board size and construction

Thank you for your opinions of the two boards, the Signature does look more "gunny" from the photos and dimensions, I haven't seen one on the beach, and judging from your videos, you certainly know what you are talking about ! I also think Quads go upwind as if on rails. I weigh 75 k and 175cm , rid...

Re: New Mitu board size and construction

Hi Windmaker, Sorry to go slightly outside the OP's thread, but could I ask you, What ride differences, carving, handling chop, freestyle, do you find between the Mitu and the Signature series ? Thanks.

Re: North Neo vs Cabrinha Drifter for wave/freeride

Plus one on that !!!

Most every section , is surfing in side shore or cross off winds, where so called "Drift" is not even needed,

I think and It's only my opinion, that we have been sucked into this whole Wave Kite / Drift marketing . an average "Freeride" kite is adequate for 99% of us.

Re: Vacuum pressure for sucking water out of a surfboard?

It depends on how much time you have, keep the board inverted with the hole at the bottom for most of the time, then place the board outside in the sun with the hole uppermost, you won't get 100% out , but enough. do the repair, and ride harder Trust me, I've over-thought these things too many times...

Re: Vacuum pressure for sucking water out of a surfboard?

As Bill said, let the water drain out, it will take a few days, when it stops dripping , put a "wick" of tissue into the hole , this will wick the remaining water out, Good idea to drill a small hole in the opposite side to the leak, this will allow the water to run out faster, epoxy the damage and ...

Re: Mauritius - intermediate waves?

Lots of good advice so far, A lot of this depends on how "intermediate" you are, I would suggest on your first time, riding out to Manawa, using the channel, and watching for a while from there, if you decide to give it a go, get on the shoulder of a wave as it flattens out into the channel,..... be...

Re: On-shore vs Off-shore wave kite

HI, I think all the points you mentioned "Drift, good de-power, fast turning, steady power in loops" are the main requirements of a kite to make it easier to use in onshore conditions, they also apply to cross/on, sideshore, and cross/off conditions, Offshore winds ......... dangerous, and very hard...

Oman, Kitesurf and Whale watching.

Hi, Don't have much of a "bucket list" but would love to dive with/ amongst Whale Sharks, heard that Oman is a good place to do this. Is it possible to arrange a trip to also include Kitesurfing ? I think the season for Whale Shark migration in the area is around September, would be good if there wa...
