Re: 2018 Naish Slash

The Pivot will probably have a better/higher resale value, and that's probably why it's the more expensive of the two kites you are looking at. as there are more people interested in a Freeride, Boosting, Wave kite. than a kite marketed as Wave orientated. I weigh 76K and my largest kite is a 12 Piv...

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Hi Flyboy, I was thinking about your last post, and our styles of onshore riding, In the style you are describing, where you are doing cutbacks to ride both left and right along the wave, ( heel and toeside gybes on same wave towards the beach) then the Pivot would do this perfectly, as you said, th...

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Hi, I think we both agree on the ability of a kite to stay in the sky when the lines are momentarily slack, being called Drift. Personally I find that in side shore conditions, top end bottom turning toward the kite, that if the kite is well powered then I can hook the turns to keep tension in the l...

Re: 2018 Naish Slash

Hi Flyboy, What is the predominant wind direct, where you and your daughter Kite ? if it's mostly cross on, or on shore then the Slash as her largest kite would be a good choice, reason, The Slash with it's thicker deeper profile towards the tips, presents more lift when low in the sky, this keeps i...

Re: Choosing size on a wave board, please help

I just realised you wanted to know what "size" TT would compare upwind.
I have no idea! I'm guessing a long one, with big fins.

Re: Choosing size on a wave board, please help

Hi Archer, Two weeks ago I rode a TT, for the first time in possibly ten years ! So my opinion is very personal, but here goes. I remember riding TT's and edging hard with the kite quite forward in the wind window, and doing this I got upwind reasonably well, but my aim at that time riding a TT wasn...

Re: Choosing size on a wave board, please help

Hi Archer, I think it will be a good purchase, I am 75K, and slightly shorter than you, and ride a 5'8 F One Mitu, sometimes I wonder if I should have bought the 5'6, would it have made any difference to my riding? I doubt it, for your weight and height I think the 5'8 Signature will be perfect, it ...

Re: What a classic kite video

Great video, brought back slightly chilling memories of the Naish AR3.5 two lines, two options, steer left or right !! then the upgrade to four lines, by rolling up the wing tips, and tying them back with zip/cable ties. flying them was still a three man operation, one to hold the kite, one to hold ...
